Ok, I don't read everything on here, but I have never heard his name being mentioned anywhere. Still only 17, but looks like we have done a deal for him to arrive in the summer, with him staying at current club Cerro Porteno for the rest of the season.
Our first Paraguayan player, it looks like part of our long-term strategy to get in young talent and develop them accordingly.
It will be interesting to see if we bring in anyone more established immediately in this window to address the left hand side issues.

From the content I've read / listened to about him, he's understandably quite raw in his footballing development but has great athleticism and potential to be a very good player. I think it's likely we'll want to add another LWB either in January or (more likely) summer, as we don't have any players who are a great fit in the squad. Specifically, we could do with two left footed players with good acceleration and ability to sprint up and down the touchline all game.

I know nothing about him, but he looks like a unit for a 17 year old. Hopefully he has the tenacity of Martinez and Ugarte you tend to see from South Americans.

I think we need a couple of more bodies right now who can play down the LHS because we are just stretched there and the depth of the squad isn't great. Whether that is realistic to do is another thing. It should definitely happen in the summer, and we just have to hope we get lucky with injuries etc.
For all the derision of Dalot, he is our only reliable constant there, but of course suspended tonight

Will be interesting to see how quickly he’s brought into the first team. He physically looks like a 28 year old.

Amass and Garnacho ?

Word on the street is that Amass is talented but (at least at this point) lacks the physical dynamism to play as a wing back. Garnacho: setting aside the fact that he's not left-footed, I think he does possess some of those attributes. Seems as though Amorim's first assessment was that he's better suited to playing as an attacking midfielder than wing back in his system. But with Dalot suspended, perhaps we'll see him tried out in that position.

I think there's every chance he goes on loan next season tbh. I can't see him being our starting LWB so in that case he needs to be playing regularly to develop.

Yeh, I watched a few videos of him yesterday and he looks very physical for his age. Obviously only youtube videos, but it also looks like he can run with the ball and drive forwards. Seems to come inside a bit too and roam wherever the move takes him, so might work well in Amorim's system if he is going to underlap.
