i dont think i am being too harsh pov, i think they way they have spent money is very different. I also wonder if ange would have got more from the players that flopped under ange.

europe could be a difference i think, but domestically i think we need more than to just keep possession, because when pressed we dont do it very well.

in the last 3 games rangers have got in our faces and we have folded in the first half under an intense press.

if we cant cope with that against rangers then it wont get better in europe.

We had 85% passing accuracy compared to rangers 65%. We played 41 long balls compared to rangers 52. 101 successful final third passes compared to rangers 29.

But rangers scored 3 and we only scored 2.

I agree sometimes it looks like we struggle when a team presses us, but like Silver shows above, we couldn’t make decent subs when we needed to. McCowan was dead on his feet well before the end of the game.

I think we were overly confident before the game in January and weren’t as determined as rangers at the weekend.

I was massively impressed by what Ange did for us and enjoyed some great games when he was here, but he’s limited when the level of opposition goes up. Rodgers has at least shown he’s got some ability to compete at a higher level.

i think we crumbled a few times when pressed, not jsut by rangers, by brugge and other teams, not even top teams.

i get we couldnt make decent subs but i'm more concerned about the how flustered we looked at the beginning not the end.

too often the ball gets played back to the keeper to deal with, its lazy and it shirks responsibility.

if we want to play that way every player needs to take control, not just fvck it he can deal with it.

Think last Sunday has skewed a lot of people’s perception on things. We need better squad depth.

https://www.celticfc.com/teams

We list only 6 midfielders and one of them is Forrest! With two out we were down to our only 3 remaining and they all had to play 90.

Very under-resourced with a squad of 23 and why I suggested yesterday that we could have utilised our spare defenders in midfield.

When was the last game we only made 2 subs far less an energy sapping derby?

No doubt it will be because Rodgers has now spunked so much on wages.

Noticed that prior to the game starting , we had nobody that was ready to come into that midfield if one of them got injured . I suspect the plan was schlupp could cover that if it came to it but we looked really short on variation

We had a really poor bench for the most part , definitely need a striker ...preferably a good one !

We’ve lost 6 or 7 games all season? Hibs we were denied an equaliser that should have stood.

I agree we should deal better when a team presses us, but that will probably need better players. A lot of teams even domestically try it, and I just don’t think it’s as bad as made out.

We’re not a top team full of top players. We handle most teams fine domestically overall. Agreed earlier on with a comment about £25 million in the current climate isn’t a lot of money-compare what we spend to teams all over Europe and plenty struggle when pressed. Brugge are the team this season that I’ve been impressed with most. They’ve done well in Europe against good teams.

I just think sometimes folk go overboard. I’m not a Rodgers fan, but I know you absolutely hate him. This latest result is maybe been your best chance to have a go at him.

Hate is a strong word, i think he's an egotistical pwrick that demands top quality but has a team that spends most of the game passing it about the back 4.

I dont much care for it as u cunningly noticed

To the people saying we crumble when pressed how do you explain the second half on sunday?

Cause we dominated the second half and a bad slip cost us but we deserved at least a draw

I’d take Shankland on a free. Cheap low risk, home grown, proven in league and can play behind striker or up top. Save money for elsewhere.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Oh, please do!

However, if your new owners really do have some stat based tool to identify players then the only categories Shankland is popping out in are slow and avoid. He's a scheite Kris Boyd.

Shankland was offered to Rangers on numerous occasions and we have never bid.

I think it would never be a conversation if he wasn’t a prod.

Hes unfit, he’s good when a team is built around him but… he’s certainly not the answer against European sides and Celtic.

Age is at the wrong end too. I hope that ship has sailed. He picks up positions for hearts just behind the striker that a Rangers player will not get.

Calling him an attacking midfielder is miles off the mark too. Allowing a mobile footballer to run in behind when you cannot move does not constitute a number 10.
