Stan Moody is a talent, he'll be top 16 if not better in a couple of years possibly

I don't know about Stan Moody. He's also pretty boring to watch as he takes ages playing shots. You'd expect more younger players to be more fluent but he's the opposite.

Stan Moody tries too hard to emulate the Shaun Murphy posh choir boy act. No thank you

I know you can get late developers in snooker, but the really classy ones have usually shown maybe a bit more than what Stan has so far - I appreciate it could suddenly just happen for him, but I personally haven't seen anything to really say, yeah, he is gonna be a superstar. But we will wait and see. But not many other names in that age bracket - is there a 'Luke Littler' of the snooker world waiting to burst out, whether British or not.

And in all seriousness, is snooker still seen as an attractive sport to get involved with for youngsters?

Interesting article.
I grew up watching snooker in the 80s and 90s, when the Crucible was probably at its most magical.

But honestly, I think it has to leave and change venue. It's outgrown the Crucible. I am actually open to whether it stays in one venue, or it might be nice for it to go round the UK at various venues to give folk a chance to watch.

I know some will be up in arms at this. But as the WC, it will always have at atmosphere of being special (almost similar to the Open being played at different venues)

Of course there will be those, dare I say mainly of my generation, and players alike who have played / won at the Crucible, who will say how special it is etc, but they will always have a somewhat bias view. It will be special wherever it is played. No doubt when it first moved to the Crucible, people questioned it and if it moved, no doubt people will question it, but it's the biggest event in snooker and it will remain that.

For the time being, I think it should remain in the UK. The audience numbers are pretty much guaranteed and the top players are still UK based.

Although in 10-15 years time if we find that the top 16 is dominated by non-UK players, there may be a clamour to take it abroad.

It's crazy - in my time of watching sport from the early 80s, I think of the likes of Mike Tyson bursting on the scene, Becker at Wimbledon, later on Nadal in Paris, maybe even Rooney bursting on the scene, but in a sport usually dominated by an older generation, to see a guy so young just come along and just immediately be at the level of what others have done, and have that confidence that comes with youth, it really is phenominal
