Return of Afridi, Razzaq, Yousuf?
And most importantly PEACE!
Never been soo happy at somebody getting fired.
The new guy probably isn't the best choice, but im sure he'll have a better brain than butt.

better brain then butt.. lol
Anyways, he is not fired, the patron pcb generally values such sick heads, so he let him complete his term, and as per ijaz butt he was offered an extension in the term too which he denied.
Now the next one who has taken charge is coincidentaly an ex class fellow of zardari, lets see how many laurels does this friendship wins for them, I mean the country. I am being a pessimist here I know, but I cannot really expect any positive things when appointments are made on the basis of personal relationship. Zaheer Abbas was a candidate but I just do not understand how did he fail to make it if merit was taken into account. Still I do hope this turns out to be in the best interest of Pakistan cricket, and we see those lost faces back in the team and more importantly some home cricket, WE JUST NEED IT!!

Credit should be given to Ejaz butt for been financially clean.Whereas allegations have been hurled against his predecessors of embezzlement( audit report is yet to be published in the years in which Nasim Ashraf was in command).
But since Zardari's friend has taken over,it means Pcb is on verge of bankruptcy.
What makes the appointment poignant is the fact there are several capable people available yet we are been victimized.

Pakistan will not improve until the entire system is detoxified and reformed. I'm talking the kind of house cleaning that makes a lot of enemies.
Amir was the future of Pakistan cricket and look what happened. He made his own bed, but it was the system and culture the kid came into contact with that ruined him. Whats a young silly kid going to do if he comes into contact with guys like that? The players supposed to teach him the ropes. He didn't have a chance, he was easy pray.
Use the metaphor of a car engine
The players are the oil and petrol. The authorities and ex-players/admin types governing the system are the engine, Pakistan has never had problem getting hold of the fuel. The problem is the engine (the system) is fundamentally broken. So no, bringing back of couple of past it greats wont make a difference. What is required is a politician type with balls of steel.

Oh, by the way, I'm talking a matter of life and death if someone really has the courage and determination to take on betting rings and vested interests. Its ultimately up to Pakistan but I doubt things will change soon. The authorities are very good and keeping the public onside with a siege mentality, implying domestic critics are unpatriotic and foreign critics are racist etc.
Only Pakistan can make the changes because they have denied all foreign assistance in this matter. John Howard, love him or hate him, would have done more to combat corruption in Pakistan cricket than the national authorities have done for 30 years. Pakistan (and the Indians) knew this so he was blocked, against protocol on spurious charges of bias and racism.

Redknapp,
You make some valid point and some not so valid.... when you talk about an overhaul of the "system" are you talking political or just the mismanagement of the pcb in particular?
Also, can you clarify what you mean by "The authorities are very good and keeping the public onside with a siege mentality, implying domestic critics are unpatriotic and foreign critics are racist". Also, what foreign critics you reffering too?
