So Forest are starting to get the message and have at least made a watered down attempt at a statement of intent.

Good news that money will be available to Steve Mc, though is it me or is it slightly disconcerting that a) apparently money to the tune of £25m was invested over the last two seasons and we didn't see an awful lot of players coming in and b) there is the caveat that they have to be able to improve the squad.

Now I am not suggesting we go out and buy anyone, but........ seems a ready made excuse for if we fail to sign players....."well there wasn't anyone available that we thought was better than what we have". This despite the fact that half the clubs around us seem to have already made progress in strengthening their squads.

Part of our problem was the size of the squad and this has to be addressed, lets promnote those youth good enough and give them their chances, but also lets recruit some players with potential that could cover the occassional suspension and injury, they don't have to cost the earth.

This is why I am pleased with the Mclaren appointment. He should be able to bring in signings from abroad which would be cheaper. I remember seeing an interview 2 or 3 seasons ago about promoting forest in the orient and that never materialized.
Also what happened to our european scouting? One thing I'm certain is. That Mcclaren is keen on youth development and the reserve team will be back.
