After finishing 15th, 10th, 9th, 6th and then 3rd in the last 5 seasons, surely we can finish the sequence off with automatic promotion next year ?
The last 10 years have been traumatic for Town, a relegation, a play off final win, a play off final defeat and 3 play off semi final defeats...
As always, optimism, hope and expectation...but no more play-offs, please.
The only way is up ?

I certainly think the honeymoon is over for LC now. Many fans have been critics for some time, but I think the Old trafford team formation has upset a lot more fans.
He's had 2 and half years now and I think the expectancy was, with money he had, we'd be in the championship by now. So, in answer to your question, yes I think if we aren't producing the goods after 10 games the fans will get on not only LC's back, but the players too....and that can only lead to disaster...This is why DH should act now, imo, because it could turn nasty.

Agreed jacko who do you want then ?

Blimey, am I being led to the slaughter here.?..To be honest, I don't know who is available...but it wouldn't necessarily need to be a current manager, maybe an assistant (as LC was) who has a more progressive and dynamic and modern footballing phylosophy, maybe a foreigner like Poyet who learned his stuff at 3 clubs but obviously brighton saw something in his interview that appealed to them. I accept the risk, and I've probably been advocating an experienced manager like Davies...but I don't know enough about who thinks what and who is on the market so to speak..Who do you think wethers ?

I put a thread on yesterday saying that I wouldn't mind Billy Davies, he would do a terrific job in my opinion, he is being linked to the Birmingham job though, Mark Robins ?
Me, you anyone really. !!

someone who does not need to make 17 plus signings to get the right formula..
its expensive and it leads to benches full of people who are unhappy because they were nor brought in to sit on their ars- and they cant work out what it actually is that the manager is trying to do..
its also no good having strength on the bench if its badly used..or not used at all..

Forest have a good squad of players, but i saw them against Swansea and they were well off the game. martinez did a good job setting up the club before going to Wigan, and they murdered Leeds a while back. Question mark over Davies then.
LC's problem seems to be he doesn't know what he wants, he buys players then changes his mind...our bench at Old Trafford was stronger than the team on the pitch..unbelievable. The worst thing is LC seems frightened of the opposition and lacks self belief. next year he will be under real pressure and I'm not sure he's strong enough to take it. I feel a bit cheated after Old Trafford, like was that the best we could do, after 48 games...? A bit like Millwall over again.

Agree with LC not really knowing his best team...
I felt all season that he had matured enough to get us out of this league. I now admit that I was wrong. I reckon I could manage this squad better than him....
I also think we should let him try to change our views by him by getting 2 or 3 quality new signings, then getting rid of Alan fricking Lee. But more than anything else he needs some good tactical advice from a new assistant coach.
Come Xmas we should be top.

I think Alan Lee will be usefull to pass on his experience to the younger strikers....then at the end of the week he can leave..

Alan Lee has been well and truly hung out to dry by Clark. I didn't hear a single negative comment about his signing at the time. 30 games of lumping the ball in the air to him with no support and he's seen as a failure.
I'm not saying he's a world beater, but he can be far more valuable to us than what we saw last season, if utilised in the right system of course.

You are right, and it's true for all the strikers at Town. LC brought them all in then decided to change tactics making them all superfluous..ridiculous really, and costly. I think many of the Town players would benefit from a more sophisticated football strategy than hoofball...and of course the key to that is a coupke of midfield players who have skill, vision and pace...Alan lee was used as a battering ram, then Afobe..meanwhile JR and LN sit on their bums...
