what a day, went out on the lash all day till daft oclock.
after the match i met my mate .....a blunt..... who had been to the match, i was shocked to hear that he thought they dominated the game and that they threw it away. in normal situations hes a good guy but obviously caught up in the heat of the game he had become a tad deluded.
i guess it goes to show just how much you can get caught up in the game and the atmosphere and how you lose all perspective.
i watched it at hillsborough on the beam back and its fair to say you do get to see it on tv as it really is and with the benefit of replays.
he couldnt recall us having any real possesion of the ball through the game or of them time wasting. he just couldnt believe me when i told him they only scored on the break and we were all over them in the first half
we were very good in the first half and less dominant in the 2nd half but still remained on top throughout. had we been as clinical as them we wouldve beaten them easily but thats the way it goes.
even if we had been beaten yesterday i wouldve been able to hold my head high because of our performance.
onwards and upwards now.
what a day

The blunts fans that I spoke to were similarly deluded, the two go together nicely!

I have misfortune to work with a couple of blunts. Luckily I'm moving job next week so it's not the end of the world.
Anyway, they're both pretty accepting that they were poor and were embarrassed by their capitulation.
They said something along the lines of "we'll get you back at Hillsborough" but there was a distinct hint of desperation and resignation in their faces.

Had this game gone on much longer, no doubt who the eventual winners would have been. Roll on the Hillsborough secual! UTO!! <OK>
...and hopefully we'll still get a crack at ending 'udders unbeaten run when the time comes!!
