One line from the debate was: "But the Premier League told BBC Sport that the move would be a non-starter, with the Football Association retaining the power to veto any proposals."
Clubs with powerful owners have shown (when they forced UEFA to create the Champions' League under threat of a breakaway) that it's the clubs that hold the power, not any football associations.
It'd only take a few more clubs like Blackburn to come under foreign ownership and start to struggle before this became a wave that might grow and grow.

yeah, because clearly all foriegners think the same, if they're foreign they must want there to be no relegation.
this is a complete non-starter. the PL have stated they know nothing of bevan's claims. the fa have stated they have the right of veto and would use it.
this has all come from bevan, the boss of the league managers association (nothing to do with chairmen) which is nothing but a glorified trade union. it must have been a slow news day for it to even make the presses.
