Rangers overcame Liverpool in a drab match on Tuesday night in a friendly contest at Ibrox.
The Reds fielded mostly second string players, and they did not do much to impress manager Kenny Dalglish. Goalkeeper Doni put in an encouraging performance, but his evening was cut short as he was forced off before the hour mark after suffering a dislocated finger.
The only goal of the game came from Lee McCulloch after Liverpool failed to clear a Rangers corner kick, and McCulloch fired it in through a crowd of players.
Rangers created most of the chances, and came close to adding to their lead on a number of occasions. Kyle Lafferty, on in the second half, forced Doni into a save and the ball struck the post before bouncing on the line, but the Liverpool keeper managed to get hold of it before it crept over the line. Unfortunately this was where his game ended, and Martin Hansen was brought on.
Liverpool were restricted to mainly long range efforts, with Craig Bellamy and Andy Carroll among those trying them. There were some promising passages of play, largely involving Charlie Adam who pulled off some impressive long range passes, but there were no real clear cut chances created and Rangers held on for the victory.
Liverpool now turn their attention back to the season and the visit of Norwich City to Anfield on Saturday evening.

How many goals did Hooper score in the Premier League? Also which international team does he play for?

Seriously why did you go down that road.
I don't care what league anyone plays in as it means fluck all. Jeez if you want to go down that route we've just beat you 1-0 and it should have been 6.
You can only compare them in the same league and he outscored him in the Championship in a relegated team.
As for the England team get a grip please. Heskey played for England.
I know which one I would want to pay the same money for.

What are you talking about? I asked you two questions. I was expecting answers, which would determine whether Hooper is a better player than Carroll. Where you got all that other nonsense from, one can only hazard a guess at you being on the defensive for some unknown reason to me.
I guess I just conclude it myself, Hooper hasn't proved he can score goals in the Premier League, Carroll has. Hooper isn't in the England squad which includes the best players in the country, Carroll is. Using these two facts and my opinion that Andy Carroll has bags of potential, I come to the conclusion that Hooper can't even be mentioned in the same breath as Carroll.
Of course opinions differ but no need to go on the defensive. Rangers deserved their win and it should give them a little confidence boost. We handed run outs to some players returning from injury and lacking match fitness. Overall I think the game was a success, regardless of how much a waste of time people are saying it was.

I'm going on the defensive because you already knew the answers to both questions. The were the kind of questions that Mark Lawrenson and co come out with on the BBC on football focus.
Total English biased questions that only someone who watches nothing but EPL football would ask. The best English players don't always play for England and scoring in the EPL is not the be and end all of everything in football. The England team and manager is biased toward picking people from one league and a few teams in that league.
Half the teams in it bottom half of the EPL aren't very good either and by your arguments if the defenders aren't playing for an international team or England then they aren't very good either.
Hooper scored more goals than Carrol in the same league. Now that is a true comparison.
The facts are that Hooper did this in a team getting rellegated against a team who won the league. So Hoopers team had less possesion, had less chances and he scored more.
That's all you have to know in my book.

I didn't say Hooper isn't a good player. I didn't say any of the things you are posing arguments against. You are arguing you're own points and quite simply I'm confused as to what you're problem is.
If a player is good enough and playing in another league then he'll be selected. It just so happens that not many have played in other leagues but the one's who have and who have been good enough, have been picked.
Using Rangers as an example off the top of my head Gazza and Stevens have been picked. It just so happens that the best English players don't play in Scotland at this moment in time. To say that some players n the England squad aren't very good is a ridiculous statement, in my opinion. They are ranked eighth in the world.
So as I've said before Carroll plays for the eighth best international team in the world, has scored Premier League goals and looks to have fantastic potential. Hooper hasn't. So based on this Hooper cannot be compared to Carroll.
I have no English bias by the way.

You were satisfied with the replays? I thought they were pretty conclusive and showed that the whole ball didn't cross the line.
