As I'm sure you're all aware, Rovers are bracing themselves for a bid for Samba. Kean has stated that we'll do everything in our power to keep our best players, but surely a large enough bid and he'll be gone.
I'm neither a Venky's/Kean lover or hater, I'd like to see how they progress over the next few months before making proper judgement, as I feel the team wasn't beginning to make headway near the back end of the season. Kudos to Venky's for trying to get as much out of the Jones' deal (regardless of whether it was for our benefit or not, we'll see).
I'd like to see us keep Samba, get Hoilett to sign a new deal and bring in Warnock to allow Givet to stay as a CB, and hopefully we can bag a good CM or two along with a couple of good strikers(ie. NOT Santa Cruz/Mame Diouf). A team along these lines would be acceptable next season I feel.

Thoughts?
A Tough Few Weeks

Bellamy has a £4m price tag on his head, I'd be all over that!

I hope you keep hold of Samba....

I think we all know Samba is off just a case of how much Venkys get.
With the Admirals legs not likely to last more than 25 games a season we need somebody in that area pretty desperately. We might be able to mix and match with what we have but over a season we will get found out.
Given previous leaks of targets when Venkys took over it is surprising there is very little (nothing) in any of the papers over the last couple of weeks. Not saying this is a bad thing but how depressing is it to see players leaving without any realistic offerings the other way.
I hope Kean has divulged the great plan to the rest of the players in an attempt to provide a bit of light at the end of the tunnel. Big concern at present is if the likes of Everton/Newcastle/Villa/Spurs came sniffing around Robinson/Hoilett/Olsson/Pedersen/Givet. A couple of these players go and we are looking at a major overhaul rather than a bit of tinkering.
Going to keep positive and suggest top 10 just about feasible if we buy well.

The silence is a little concerning, although there is a long way to go before the start of the season.
Bellamy would be a nice little signing, I don't see it happening though.

I really can't see anything other than a relegation scrap as long as Kean is in charge regardless of who we sign. Names are being banded around (by fans) like Parker, N'Zogbia, Ba, Johnson, but all of these players weren't good enough to turn struggling sides into mid-table / European challengers (not that i'm saying they're not good players).

11 players make up a team though.
Just because Parker, N'Zogbia etc etc all played in teams that were near the bottom of the table or in teams that were relegated, does not make them bad players.

if you'd read what i said, you'd have seen that i didn't think they were bad players.
my point is that under kean we are a lower table team. adding a couple of good players won't necessarily change that.
