Saturday 22nd October, Windsor Park, and It’s the Fixture of the two heavyweights Linfield and Portadown slugging it out at the top of the league.
Have been scouring the Local media websites for a preview of this vital game and cannot find one decent article which is an absolute scandal. If the hacks cannot be bothered its no wonder people are turning their backs on our local game. Publicity is an oxygen for any sport
The Ports have had an incredible run this season and respect to the 2nd longest serving Manager currently in Britsh Football.
Having already beaten us earlier at Shamrock Park must fancy their chances again. Tipton and Braniff appear to be the key men although the defence has been superb. Only 11 goals conceded in 12 games, mirrored by Linfields 10 in 11 games.
Looks like we may have both Mulgrew and Gault back to aid Garrett in midfield which could tip the balance of power, but hearing on the grapevine that all is not well with our loan signing Patterson. His primadonna antics are not being well received by his team mates and is affecting team morale. Watch this space.
Here’s hoping for heavy rain on Friday causing the postponement of Junior matches in North Belfast, Earl able to attend game, and an entertaining and high scoring 1-0 win for the Champions

Certainly no love lost between yourselves and Portadown
If you check records Portadown have taken as many points off us in the last few seasons as anyone else, but this seems to be overlooked by certain parties.
Have beaten all the top teams this season in the League (and Glentoran).
Personally if we dont win the League would love to see them win it again. Have some good long standing mates from that part of the world.

And dont start me on the media
BBC sports website is the only one with any credibility and even it hasn't mentioned the game as yet

I know. We're tucked in somewhere between motorsport and ice-hockey on most sports bulletins if we're lucky these days. At least Sky are still eager to show our re-arranged game in a few weeks which is good news.

Lazy journalism more like.
Maybe only a couple of thousand will be at Saturdays game but a lot more folk are interested, and for the many emigrees the only way to receive any local sports news is on the web.
