I've posted regularly, warning about what Alex McLeish would bring to Villa Park.
After an absolutely dismal result against the Old Enemy, it's probably time to update some facts and figures about how the team is doing,.
- In 11 games, McLeish's Villa are STILL yet to actually play well. The performances have ranged from 'mediocre' to 'shocking'.
- Accumulating points at the current rate, we will struggle to a total of 46 points.
- Unfortunately for even that prediction, included in the 9 PL games played by VIlla were SIX teams in the bottom SEVEN !!!!!!!!!!!!!! - An unbelievably 'soft' start to the season.
- With this in mind, even a prediction of 46 points looks way too high. We are in trouble.
- Our only wins have come at home to Blackburn (19th) and Wigan (20th). Oh and there was Hereford at home, 2-0.
- Villa have netted 11 times in 10 games against PL oposition.
- Our play is uninspired, unambitious, dull, width-less, dour and boring.
Attendances have plummeted by something like 6,000 per game. The Albion attendance was an embarrassment.
In my opinion, McLeish has succeeded in draining the hope and passion, both from the team and the supporters. There is an all-consuming feeling of apathy and resignation to our fate this season. I'm convinced that McLeish was appointed in order to 'grind' Villa to SAFETY. Yes, SAFETY, this season.
A negative and uninspiring appointment has given us a negative and uninspired manager. Now we've got negative and uninspired vibes a-plenty, negative and uninspired supporters and a negative, uninspired season to 'look forward' to. Yes, bad mistake Randy. But are you big enough to cut your losses quickly?
McLEISH OUT - NOW
Eck's time is up - but where's ambition?

Why would anybody want to manage you lot.Your fans vandalise their own training ground because you don't like the manager. You complained about every manager linked to your team.you don't deserve a top manager.Second rate managers to go with your second rate club and fans.

lionbrad - you've summed it up pretty well. The reason why Villa haven't done worse is that they've got some good or very good players. But the tactics such as they are are abysmal. For WBA to come here and play the better football, and win, says it all; I think they'd have got the result without the sending off. McLeish is a good candidate for the worst manager in the PL; he is not good enough for the PL by a clear margin.
At the moment Randy does have a lifeline, if he cares to take it. Dump AM. Hughes may or may not fit in the longer term but he'd take the job for the rest of the season, as with Fulham. He'd get us top 10 no trouble, 8th isn't too ambitious. It would take a few matches for things to gel, but I think he'd do better in them than AM anyway. He needs to do it soon while Hughes is still available. All it would cost is AM's pay off, which over the season is easily recouped. Go on Randy; time to be ruthless. Do it!

Its not rocket science. If you let your best players go, youre not going to be as competetive.
AM does not have much to work with however, what he has got, he does not seem to be able to make work.
No plan b for when Herd got sent off.
Why keep Bent on when it was clear nothing was getting to him. Far better to have took him off, gabby up front and play 441.
As it happened, he left us exposed at the back and allowed west brom to really take advantage of the extra man. Extra 2 if you count the ref. Although Herd deserved to walk.

abf... they aint seen nothing yet.
As you know, McNegative has a track record of squandering millions in the Jan transfer window, running out of ideas in Feb and losing his bottle in March... April and May are always a mystery...
