Im a regular reader of this forum, but a less regular poster. Reading through some of the posts, I cant believe the negativity of some people. I fully understand that some people, might be trolls purely looking for a reaction, but I just wanted to add some positivity and maybe give Grayson a little bit of a positive response.
Firslty, looking at the team he's built. I was among the peopl sorry to see Schmeichel leave, but he's managed to bring a great 1st choice in Lonergan, and a decent replacement in Rachubka. I know he's been a bit dodgy in the last 2 games, but he had a very accomplished pre-season, and I am faily comfortable with him filling in for a few weeks.
In defence, we are still letting in goals. But we are fairly solid everywhere else, and at the moment we are still winning games. The important thing here for me is Grayson is actively trying to fix it. It was clear Kiss and AOB were't up for it. He has taken a big gamble in starting young Tom in defence, and for all the abuse O'Dea has gotten, he seems to be doing ok. White has been a revelation. With Pugh brought in aswell, the left side seems to add more balance to the team, and the 2 seem to be striking up a decnet partnership.
The midfield I think is fine. He brougt in Brown, and I thought he was the type of player we needed. I was happy with it. But that backfired, as many signings do. How did Simon react. He's brought in a finland international who is still under 30. Not to bad for a Championship side. I cant comment on Mika though, because he hasnt got in the side. Howson and Clayton are doing very well. Snods seems to be finding some form, and in Sam and Nunez we have genuine impact from the bench if needed.
The forwards are doing great. I agree Simon may have stuck with Paynter for too long. But he is now nowhere near the team. We have to players up front, who are keeping last season top scorer out of the team. We also have a proven international striker on the bench aswell.
I must admit, as a student living in Holland, I dont see as much of the team as I'd like to. I must make do with match reports, and the odd tv game. So, in my views, I am no way unapproachable. In that I mean, if some of you fellow 606ers who regularly watch the team, disagree with anything ive said, id be more than happy to listen.
Overall though, I think Simon has created a good squad on limited funds, (a whole other discussion), that can genuinaly challenge for promotion, automatic or otherwise.

1. Joint 3rd worst defence in league
2. 5 of last 8 goals scored by loan players
3. Captain is ineffective
4. Struggling to beat poor teams with 10 men
so yeah lots to shout about

Somma breeze......
1. wrong - there are at least 7 teams with worst defences - also we have 3rd best attack and joint leading goalscorer.
2. so what- just goes to show what a good manager SG is in capturing these quality loan signings.
3. You are just anti-howson because he is from Leeds
4. We won FFS, also when we've had players sent off this season the opposition have struggled to beat us so it's hardly just our 'problem'

I wonder who I got 1 star off?
1. Could also be looked at we have chopped and changed our defence, and are still winning games. But understandable.
2. Keogh and Pugh, we can sign permanently if we want right?
3. I disagree.
4. Peterbrough, disagree also that they are a poor team. Not sure how you justify this.

Irish for you thoughts.
On past 8 games form we are 2nd with 17 pts (which is AUTO PROMOTION form).
I wonder how man other teams could do a summary similar to your and come up with a glowing report that would satisfy their supporters.
Probably about 2 or 3 (current top 3 teams).
Given the limited financial support from Bates and against the cash rich other clubs (parachute or foreign owned) I am happy with what we have achieved so FAR.
