Apart From Drogba

And Luiz to an extent, no one else deserves to be blamed for the result. Chris Foy was hugely inconsistent yesterday but the lads still put in their best. Normally, in the face of such adversity, the team would collapse and understandably at that. The team spirit and fight in the second half means we should if anything praise Andre. The substitutions he made were all understandable under the circumstances.

At least Luiz tried!!!!! Drogba didnt try for anything!! Lazy man!!!!

Lets not blame the ref because if we played as a team from the offset then we wouldnt be in this mess!

Well Luiz made two huge defensive errors in the 2nd half which we got away with. He made a complete feck up of an easy header and he got skinned by all of people SWP. To be honest I found both errors acceptable when you consider we were down to nine men and he was busting a gut to be both a defender and an attacker, but I certainly can´t say he was awesome when he makes mistakes like he did.

He also could have done better to prevent the Bosingwa red happening.

One significant moment usually does define a performance and his moments were significant.

Drogba is finished, his pace and strength have deserted him, and that tackle was disgracefull, and he let the side down with that show of petulance.

Luiz looked more of a clown than ever in the first half yesterday, better in the second, but still prone to get sent off, was lucky yesterday to have finished the game. Some say he is more trouble than he is worth, they may have a point

Bosingwa should know better than to get into a wrestling match with the last man especially if he is faster than you (i.e SWP) , with todays rules, you are on a hiding to nothing, you can recovber from going a goal down, not so easy going a man down.

Obi Mikel or vice versa is just not good enough, he poses no threat whatsoever as far as I can see only slows the counter attacks down

Finally our manager, stop blaming the referee, Torres was a straight red, as was Drogba, and tell the truth here, how many of you who watched the game thought the worst when SWP went past Bosingwa, and they both went to ground, I know I did

Sandsend.........

I think AVBs moaning about previous games is wrong, but I feel he had a point yesterday. Not necessarily about the decisions against us but for the ones we did not get.

For me, if you are going to give a penalty for what Luiz did then you have to give them the other end too for blatant holding and wrestling of our players in the penalty area.

This was one of the points he was making and he mentions it again on the Chelsea website.

Check out the picture and what is happening to Luiz and ask yourself how is this less of a penalty?

Also the foul count was even but the card count completely different.I know there are reasons why this can happen, but I felt he let QPR get away with more than we did.

I feel Didier deserves more blame than David. The team needed him and he let them down. Can't fault Luiz for the Bosingwa red card though. If he backtracked, the entire concept of the high line would have been compromised. So he stepped up and tried to snuff out the danger that Drogba caused by not stepping up to receive his pass. The fact that the pen against luiz was given but the one for him wasn't also shows how inconsistency affected the game. Luiz lost us the game but he could have won it back for us with a more consistent referee. And due to this, AVB has every reason to defend his players especially since we've dropped points where the officials have had shocking performances.

Im happy Avb complained, poor officiating has cost us in every game we've dropped, although we're too blame slightly ourselves for missed chance

I don´t agree with this theory.

Bosingwa had to come back from a more advanced position than Luiz. Had Luiz run back he could have covered the run from SWP and allowed Bosingwa to catch the QPR player on the ball and who made the pass. Also it was a feeble attempt to block the killer pass to SWP anyhow.

Drogba could have done more, but it was not a great pass by Luiz and he had to react better than he did.

Dr C.

I totally agree with the points you make, and have said as much elsewhere, but I dont want our manager to go down the same road as the other top flight managers, wingeing is one of my pet hates, and I hate it when one of ours does itr.

we had some poor decisions yesterday, well sho1te happens, wipe your mouth and get on with it AVB

I have an issue with you sandsend. What did obi Mikel do wrong yesterday. It was a difficult game for everyone caused by luiz and drogba. the rest including luiz played their guts out why the hell is mikel an issue, yes he was a bit slow in some instances to react but how many times did mata, lampard and meireles lose the ball, for god sake how many times did sturridge, anelka and malouda make bad decisions. Luiz caused us the game because if he was not so incompetent and childish the team would have settled down and controlled the game and I bet drogba would not have been so eager to right his mistake by sliding in, and yet luiz was still badging into strikers in our penalty box while we were down to 9 men and no one calls for his head.
Mikel covered so much ground like our other midfielders and defenders and they played like gods, he covered for luiz so many times and fought hard to protect cech, because him and the defense that QPR did not have 1 shot on goal apart from the penalty.

Bosingwa might not have a direct fault in the result but he played woefully in the first half both attacking and defending, now I am not into calling for players' heads but when ivanovic was at right back we kept possesion more, we were more a threat attacking wise and no real attacks from qpr from our right again. Ashley cole is badly losing his invincibility too kept on passing to the opposition and could not keep up with their attack from the left and always getting agitated and petulant.
Drogba in my opinion is no more a weapon for us, his age is showing badly and he is like in slow motion, can't keep up.

You having an issue with me is fine, you rate Obi Mikel, I dont, he is too slow to react, and wants to take too much time on the ball, this is not based on yesterday, but since we have had him, some peole rate players, some dont, you can argue out your differences on here, it's why places like these are called a forum
