Yesterday's Aberdeen Game

Was at the game yesterday and thought Celtic were on easy street throughout against a resurgent Aberdeen side. Comfortable until the dons scored, and when they did, Celtic easily managed to move up a gear or two and in truth the result was never in doubt.

Some players however are still not performing at the level they showed in the second half of last season though. Hooper, Kayal and most notably Commons still have to find that extra 10% which made them invaluable in last seasons run in.

However Wanyama looks like he could develop into a fantastic player with his physical presence and no nonsense style. Mulgrew after setting up the equaliser in Rennes and scoring the winner yesterday only underlines how influential he is in our team with his consistent play, and big Fraser Forster really looks like he has got over his nerves is settling into the team at long last and showing us all why Lennon rates him so highly.

So the players currently available to Celtic still have a little bit more to offer in terms of consistency and performance, but when you consider that we have been playing the virtually the whole season so far without half our first team, then there is still a lot of room for optimism and belief that with all our important players at the managers disposal and a strategic signing or two in January (Diawara already on his way according to two independent sources) then there is no reason to believe that the whole team can go up a few gears in the second half of the season and put some pressure on the clubs above us.

Big Mulgrew has been brilliant with chipping in with goals and his delivery but lets not let that blind the fact he isnt cut out to be a regular centre half for us.

I know alot of people are going to disagree with me, but Im sorry he just not good enough for that position, although hes the best of a bad bunch. If Mulgrew at centre back is the standard we are settling for its any wonder we are shipping goals out every week.

You reckon we will sign Diawara, I cant see it. After spending 2 million Bangura, we would have 5 strikers at the club.

Any money we have must be spent on 2 centre backs in January. With that defence we have now we are bound to slip up a couple of more times and loose more ground on Rangers.

If Diawara is on the way, why did Lennon go in for McFadden?
