Does anyone remember the York team of the early nineties under the brilliant John Ward?
Getting promoted at Wembley, truly great times. Names like Pepper, Bushell, Tuttil, McArthy, Barnes and the infamous Ian Blackstone.
I had a season ticket between 91 and 95 I think it was and was mascot the day we beat Barnet to top the league. (Dean Kiely breaking his finger in the process). We also had a cup run where we stuffed United at Old Trafford 3 - 0 which seems to get forgotten about...

I haven't seen them play for years as I no longer live in York. They provided me with a great football education and wonderful memories.
Many of the players went on to bigger things, i.e. Murty captaining Reading in the premiership. Kiely being a top 'keeper in the premiership....
John McArthy played for Birmingham in the league cup final vs. Liverpool, sorry I get very nostalgic when talking about the Minstermen!

I will have to try and catch a game when I'm next there, good to know they are getting back on track.
