I have been giving this quite a bit of thought and I have realised that Ravel really reminds me of Kaka. His style of play, skill and movement are really similar. Suffice it to say I have high hopes for this boy.

I wouldnt be too upset with that if Gerrard can get his form back. I just worry that we dont have much in the way of defensive protection. Parker will just sit and defend, whilst also being very good at getting his head up and making a forwards pass when he gets the chance.
Also a bit tired of Walcott. He just doesnt seem to have progressed too well.

I had Sturridge on the right in Walcott's place
But then I had no option but to put carroll in (potential not current form) and we all know where that would lead.
Gerrard is a much better DM than Parker IMO. He'll sit deep if asked. He only roams when the manager wants him to.

Would you not agree that Welbeck in the middle with Sturridge wide would be better?
I dont agree about Gerrard being a better DM than Parker. I think that Parker is a more disciplined. However, as Gerrard gets on it may be that he has to adapt his game little now anyway - as did Roy Keane, albeit at an earlier stage in his career due to injury.
As for Carroll - he has the potential and he will be in the England team/squad. I know he is getting a lot of stick right now, but so was Rooney this time last year. I still think that the fee was almost double his real value - however that has been done to death and we all know the reasoning. Overall you replaced Torres and Babel with Suarez and Carroll, which was a good move.

Completely forgot about Carroll in my list of potentially 'spearheads'. He's definitely a potential candidate for the role, in my view.
I wouldn't play Rooney as a second striker plus Gerrard in midfield. Gerrard isn't the kind of disciplined, patient, cautious player you need in a two-man midfield. He could play as the more advanced of a three-man midfield, or even on the left / right of a front three. Putting Gerrard in the middle of a 4-4-2 is a waste of the best things in his locker and probably not picking the best man for the job.

As this started off as a debate about youth and the future of the england side, how about imagining who we'd pick if the orders were to ignore the Euros, and go kidtastic right now in preparation for the WC in Brazil. The bigger and the more exciting the risk the better.
I'd go
