Squad Announced

to be honest, nothing surprises me anymore with the squad selection, but, it has got us this far so we can roll with it for another two weeks or so. Lets hope our key players come through the next two weeks without injury or illness.

Apparently he has Best on standby if Long doesnt make it.
Agree about Gibson though, but who would take his place in the squad? Paul Green? Maybe Hoolahan but he is not really a like for like replacement for Gibson.

Who could replace Gibson?

Hoolihan, Pilkington, Reid (Steven) all play week in week out for premier league clubs....

I hear what you're saying CP, but Trap can really drive me nuts. He's got the best CV of any manager we've ever had and things are better than the Kerr and Staunton era's. If we don't qualify for the Euro's though he's finished and he's tenure will be seen as one of failure.

Exactly lads, such is the life of a manager in the 'internet period'. I 100 % accept that everyone is entitled to their opinion. I also accept that sometimes parts of the criticism are valid. The thing that annoys me more than anything though is that we're leaving out players of proven quality. We quite simply aren't!

Do we leave out players who are arguably better individuals than the starting xi? Quite possibly, but our squad of players are, on the whole, quite average. Therefore the manager's job is to pick the TEAM likely to pick up the best results.

Two play-offs in a row?! Considering our record since 2002? Come on!

i hear what your saying completely pogued but it's so frustrating watching IMO dire football matc after match yes it would be great if we quailfy for the euros but my point is he picks the same team game after game why not mix it up we are playing boring football i don't expect to win every game but he plays for draews more than a win i'm sorry but it just frustrates me big time
