RVP isn't interested in signing a contract at the moment. The reality is we will probably need to finish 4th for that to happen.

will he even be happy with 4th though? i remember the last time he signed a deal he delayed beforehand because he didn't think we were competitive. we've hardly come on leaps and bounds since then...

I think if we finish 4th we can build on it again. Make a few signings, hopefully watch Kossy and TV form a great partnership, watch Gibbs, Wilshere and Rambo continue to improve. Won't be any good unless we can keep the team together though which is why 4th is a must.

What has Arsene Wenger go to do with RVPs contract negotiation?
I have seen quite a few articles blaming Wenger for Nasri, Flamini, etc. I assume that most here don't understand how companies work.
The contracts are handled by Gazidis. The ONLY thing that is asked of Arsene is whether he wants to keep the player. Thats all. If you want to blame someone for contract negotiations, their names are Ivan Gazidis, followed by board of directors who rubber stamp Gazidis and ultimately Mr Stanley Kroenke.
RVPs contract has nothing to do with Arsene.

Dont forget Hill-Wood. I blame him for all of our ills at the moment. I would much rather see him go and David Dein back in. I know he is power hungry but he wanted to see Arsenal as the best team in the world, not just the most profitable for as little outlay as possible.
