I really don't like to say this chaps -honestly- but the attitude of some Villa fans on this site is as poor as that of many Wolves and Blackburn fans- really, how does all this negativity help the club?""
A bit of context please.
Our manager has won 6 games out of 30 played and achieved 6 points from 10 games this year. We have not kept a clean sheet for 17 matches. We had the worst goals against record away last year and have won one only this year. Meanwhile our manager waxed 17 million pre-season on top of 5 in January which is big money for us. We have been in the bottom 3 most of this season.
Tar Rovers fans as reactionary fools if you must, but for balance, please mention the above stats and information and let others make an informed decision, as opposed to claiming any insight when stating we are 'poor fans'.

^^^^^.........Correction.
6 games out of 31 played achieving 28 points out of 93 available.
Rovers fans have been hugely supportive throughout this period and the pressure was only cranked up early this season as the poor results continued one after another.

I don't think you can blame AM too much when your owner has gone missing, sold your best players and left AM with little money to spend on making you a force again.
When Lerner took over he backed MON all the way and you were close to breaking into the top 4. If you had signed Bent at that time you probably would of made it. However Lerner realised then that it was going to take that bit too much money that he wasn't prepared to put in and then decide to scale back considerably. That is the reason MON left and that is the reason AM came in. The owner knew he could work with a tight budget and keep you in the top flight.

So McLeish is not to blame for serving up the football equivalent of gruel, errrrrrr, yes he is.
I can accept mid table football with a mediocre level of achievement because thats what our budget allows at present. What I cannot accept and will not pay to see is the utter dross that McLeish is responsible for serving up.

Most midtable teams serve up dross though. All they are concerned with is staying in the league and that means playing football that is effective and gets results but not great football. Stoke play very effective but long ball and boring football but they know there level and are happy with it.
Villa on the other hand have witnessed in recent season the highs of the top 6 and playing attractive football and want it to stay that way but it can't happen if the owner wants to sell the best players and replace them with cheaper one's.
