Manchester United supporter in peace
I have been a massive critic of Theo Walcott and although pace is his most vital weapon there were many aspects of his game at Stamford Bridge I was very impressed with. His work-rate, passing, crossing and especially his quick feet and awareness was very very impressive. I certainly didnt expect to see all these qualities in him and I am very pleased for Theo.
Long may it continue. Today could very well be the day Theo has finally blossomed after years of promise. The way he played today would have frightened all teams because not only did he place with pace but also with great awareness, great crossing, awareness and great dribbling and quick feet and these qualities together - Theo is a very very dangerous player

in all likelihood, he will probably do nothing for the next 3 games. us fans can only hope and pray he has finally reached his potential.

He was playing so badly in last few games, this was probably a one off.

The thing with Theo is he works on the areas of his game that get criticised. His crossing is actually fantastic nowadays. He tracks back. Drifts inside. It's all impressive.

We all know that Walcott had a good game yesterday - and he should be applauded for it, but his crossing is not "fantastic" - that's embarrassing, usually it is not even reaching the dizzy heights of mediocre - and it's not all impressive, apart from his shooting and a touch more strength little has changed since he joined.
Walcott showed much more effort in this game and exploited his pace effectively, but the previous week he performed like a pub player. If he makes that kind of effort for 60 minutes in every game maybe he will be more influential, but we have been waiting a loooong time for such consistent performances.
Arsenal undid Chelsea continually throughout the match and Walcott got lots of opportunities - which to his credit he often took - let's see whether he can do this consistently when the opposition are not quite so accommodating and look like they have a decent uncompromising defence.
