A lot have focused on the negatives of selling Nasri and Fabregas this summer, and to be fair there have been quite a few, most crucially our worse league position and poorer performances in general. But yesterday, in my opinion, proved that some good has come out of those sales.
Every time we attacked we looked dangerous. Previously, although I admired our patient build up, more often than not, it would result in nothing. A lot of this was because players like Nasri and Cesc were more comfortable when play was slower; quite often they were reluctant to start counter attacks.
This is in contrast to yesterday. Not only did we look to counter on almost every occasion, we were threatening each time we did so, and this for me is because the players we have are more suited to this game. Yesterday's performance reminded me of Arsenal in Arsene's earlier years.
We could never have played like that before

Lucas, you are making no sense. I said 'one of' that means United's attacking display was good as well, as was City's at Old trafford.
If you actually watched the game when we played United, it could have been 3-3 at half time as well. Robin missed a penalty and other great chances. Arshavin just after half time missed an amazing chance as well.
The league has been crazy this season. The only performance that has been defensively sound and magnificent going forward is City 6-1 United

yeah but with the likes of jenkinson, coquelin (who i actually quite like, but it was his first ever PL appearance for us) and traore you can see why they mauled us 8-2. we were up against the likes of terry, cole and ivanovic yesterday.

Batmanu, yes maybe your right. The runs you are talking about, I was also screaming at the Tele, wondering why Ramsey did not release Gervinho at one point and Theo on another occasion.
But when they showed the highlights, Ramsey didn't pass because the players were actually offiside. Chelsea were playing such a high line it was unbelievable.
Ofcourse having Cesc now would make us a better team but what I'm saying is Ramsey has been so good this season that we're not missing our ex-talisman as much as we thought we would.
We even scored 2 at Old trafford. I can't remember the last time we did that.

You know going forward you may have a point (although there have been games we desperately missed him like Newcastle or Pool) when you are talking about going forward, but the way Cesc can dictate a midfield and effectively control the match and 60%+ possession limited our opposition to so many chances in the past. It's no coincidence that we have conceded so many goals this season. Less possession = more chances created against us = more goals conceded.

so there is another performance this season in the all time list? You said "one of the best you will ever see" implying it was on a pedestal with a few truly great attacking displays.

'One of the best attacking displays you will see'
I should have added 'this season' and 'in england', because Barca and Madrid produce tons of stunning attacking displays in La Liga against mediocre sides.
But yes, you won't see another side score 5 times at the Bridge for some time
Liverpool go there soon, let's see if they can do it.

Adventures, I don't this him not being in our team has got anything to do with the amount of goals we have conceded. Cesc isn't a Xavi type player. He doesn't play simple passes dozens of times in the space of a minute to keep possession.
I remember he used to lose the ball a few times when trying amazing passes. Xavi plays a risk pass once every 50 passes. Cesc plays it once every 5. If there is anyone who used to help us keep possession, it was Denilson

ffs.
stop it guys, you lot are making me think of this current team but with fabregas and nasri in it.
we could win the league wth a team like that.
