Different crowd

It was very noticeable on satd'y how the make up of the crowd (no jokes please) was changed from the usual family mix. Far fewer colours on show (understandable), and not many kids and older females. As a result there was a good raucous atmosphere, just like the old days. We had a great day out (despite the result), loads of beers and proud of the team on the second half showing. Thank God for Steve Howard.

I've got a horrible feeling that whatever I try to say next is going to end up digging a deeper hole...

I had assumed you meant less people were wearing football shirts, so as to avoid or seek out trouble. Hence the different connotations of the written word!

Different views, lots of thoughtful contributions (in fact only that sort) - a good thread, folks.

Oh well, it livened up a dull monday. Regarding colours, it was simply interesting that fewer fans were not wearing team shirts - make of that what you will. It's not a ground where I would flaunt my allegiance.

lol Dungeon,i think Robster was commenting on the atmosphere and not trying to start worldwide ethnic cleansing

MallingFox. Perhaps you will explain to me what your assertion is on "brainless policing."

if away fixtures had two areas one for the none clour wearing, none singing family style and one for the full on colours. (Dung you have never saluted the colours then?)

"Wheres the fun being chased through East Ham with your family in tow?"

Oh please, I spoke to the police before and after the game and it was only a Bronze command, no problems were expected or occured. The only time there is any real problems at the hammers is when playing Millwall.
