EPL Clubs poaching SPL players

Anyone notice the recent stories connecting Forrest with Spurs and Wilson with Fulham. I'm well aware that the gulf between the EPL and the SPL has grown ever wider in recent years. Still I find it irritating in the extreme that middle of the road clubs that have very little history or real status like Spurs and Fulham are openly talking about our players as if they can move in and take them whenever they want.

Celtic and Rangers need to organise themselves with clubs from Holland, Portugal, Belgium and other countries and force UEFA to put a stop to the ridiculous situation where nothing clubs like Spurs find themselves in a dominant position over prestigious clubs from European leagues. There needs to be a fight back against the bollixology of the EPL.

Time for the strong clubs of European leagues to network, organise and create a strong lobby group to force UEFA to change things.

Players are like everyone.

I offer you 10x your salary are you going to take it?

+++++

It won't be that multiplication nor near it...

And I beg to differ...players are TOTALLY different from the normal employee. They are assets and valued as such. For them personally, to make serious money throughout their career...is to be the best they can be.

That will NOT happen sitting on the bench.Forrest could do better than Spurs if he progresses at his current rate, so a more lucrative contract awaits

Funniest article i've seen in years, Celtic may have history but you have to face it in the grand scheme of things Tottenham are a far far bigger club than Celtic, if the Old Firm did ever go to the EPL they would be challenging teams like Fulham, Stoke and Sunderland for top 10.

Things change 20 years ago Monaco were a big club on the European scene, now they're bottom of the French 2nd Division, Shamrock Rovers gave Spurs a harder game in the Europa League than Hearts the '3rd' biggest team in Scotland.

Celtic and Scottish club football doesn't have the same standing as it used to, Forrest goes to Spurs then does well a bigger club than Spurs will then cherry pick him, same if Wilson goes to Fulham.

It's happened to Dundee United and Hibs for years, so I wouldn't expect much sympathy from the rest of Scottish football - infact all I think you'd get is a wry smile.

How often do Celtic's players get "cherry picked"?

Answer: Not as often as they do to other SPL teams

Whats the difference between what the OF do to the rest of the league and what the clubs just outside the top few do to the SPL ?

What about the even poorer leagues that the OF take players off as well... ?

Guys, you're taking the tripe in the redtops too seriously. How many times have comics like the Sun or Record contained 'stories' which are nothing more than the fevered imagination allied to the fear of the sports sub editor of a 'sports' 'journalist'. Their job is to sell 'newspapers'. Truth comes way down the priority list.
We can only hope that Forrest is mature enough to realise this as there doesn't seem to be much maturity or leadership in the coaching staff.

As for poaching players how do Juarez, Ki, Izaguirre, Kayal et al fit into this equation? Or is this ok because they come to Celtic, winners of the big wan 45 years ago?
So if a team say Aston Villa or Nottingham Forest came in for Forrest that would be ok as they have won it twice and therefore are a bigger club than Celtic?
