This whole Pakistani spot fixing saga just shows how pathetic the mindset of the PCB and its advisors was and probably still is. Apparently the pak team has a media advisor and a communications advisor in full time roles……. A brief history of the English media vs Pakistan cricket should have sent alarm bells to any expert…….
From the Imran Khan Vs Botham saga
To the Ball tampering nonsense in 92 and 96
Reaction of walking off the field at Oval
To these three Muppets
The English media always knew that with Pakistan there is a story to be told and unfolded, regardless of what shape, size and form it came in. These Pakistani advisors are just Muppets for not doing their homework and getting the house in order before being exposed in shameful way. Embarrassing and humiliating.
I’m not saying it was a witch-hunt or Pakistan specific, because the English media has shown in the recent years that they have the ability to do the impossible and unthinkable with stars, Politian’s and sportsmen alike Point is, what on earth were the management and “advisors" playing at and do they actually do any research before “advising" the team?
Don’t see anyone cheating in England again. If they do, they’ll have to have balls of steel.
English media = Ruthless!!!

Afridi are you saying he didn't quote from illegal bookmakers?
He did so when he claimed that the England players were involved in such behaviour.

The worst part of it is for the Pakistanis, is no-one was really surprised when this all came to light.
I think everyone was kind of just waiting for a bomb to drop. They knew one was due, just when and in what form.

Amir's claim that he was pressured to get involved is somewhat tarnished by the fact that he was in communication with a bookmaker and sent him his bank details.

According to the agent who has put the blame on Butt this is how much was paid from that NOTW money:
£2,500 to Amir,
£10,000 to Butt
£65,000 to Mohammad Asif.
Asif was paid the larger amount to guarantee that he remained loyal to the fixing racket within the team and was not persuaded to go elsewhere.
