We have to sort this mess out quickly

Our recent performances have been dire to say the least. It is clear the way AVB is trying to get the team to play.

It is so obvious he is trying to emulate Barcelona and play a high defensive line while playing a pressing game as well.

However, yo do this you have to have the whole team knowing what their roles are and carryingh them out to the full. If just one player fails to carry out his duties the whole system can fall apart from what I can see.
Playing the high defensive line requires players with pace. Our defence does not have pace. Bosingwa is a waste of space as a defender. Terry is easily a couple of yards slower than two or three years ago. Luiz loo
ks like his mind is away with the fairies sometimes. Ivanovic gets pulled out of position and Cole is not what he was a couple of seasons ago. Alex is about the only defender who seems to be doing what he should be. And Cech is letting in goals that I never thought I would see him do.

Playing this way you need two central midfileders with defensive capabilities, (oh for another Makalele). Two players playing wide and one up front with another playing just off the front man. When the team does not have pocession, all these players must press hard to retrieve and close down. Torres and Sturridge fail to do this.

Oh and another thing, we don't have the players who can pass the ball like Barcelona.

So AVB, either get the players who understand your system or go back to the drawing board or bring back Ancelotti or even Avram Grant!

Disagree. Alex has made just as much mistakes as Luiz this season if not more and Luiz is our defender who suits the high-line most, Alex is a good defender but he really isn;t suited to a high-line I think. deep-line he is good. He also doesn't have pace, despite you saying a high-line requires pace (it doesn't).

Cech has only had one poor game this season, against Arsenal, the rest are goals that many 'keepers wouldn't save.

Also I'd argue that Torres for all his failings does press the best out the front 3. Mata and Sturridge don't press. Mata sort of follows them but rarely actually goes in and presses.

Ancelotti,Avram and Jose.............why did we get rid so quickly?
Give AVB time,but as you say,Chelsea are no Barca and without those players,we cannot just pretend to be.

That's not a rant it's a panic session. Just give the man time to sort out the individuals and system. We all know that some of the squad are too old or not up to changing. We have had a bad week but we are still in the race for the EPL (but I dont thibk this is on), we are still in the CC, we are still in the FA cup which hasn't begun yet and finally we will get through to the KO stages of the Champs League which start next year when we will better in terms of organisation, players etc.

Are you serious? Give the guy a break , hes only in the job a matter of months ffs. The players have to get used to the new system , it will take TIME. Did you honestly think this would be done in a matter of weeks or even months. You obviously think the guy is going to work miracles in his 1st full season in the Prem. Id say next year will be the time to start slagging AVB if the team performs below par on a regular basis.

Have some patience.....
