From BBC Gossip column
Blackburn plan to place a hefty £18m price tag on Canadian forward Junior Hoilett, whose contract expires at the end of the season, in the hope of averting interest from Tottenham and Newcastle.
Venkys mean "attracting" not "averting" surely?
Im changing my opinion albeit very slowly about Kean and moving it over to the Venkys
Attracting you mean surely....

Why the hell can't we get this guy to sign!? I thought Venkys were rich? I thought they were going to put money into the club? They could just offer him huge wages & bonuses and we'd get to keep easily our best attacking player. But no, lets try and sell a guy with no contract for 18m instead!

I do think the kid could show a little loyalty! You can say what you want about kean, but he owes it to him on where he his at the moment because i honestly believe under big sam he would still be a bit part player.

I agree with you but loyalty and football don;t go together all that matters in football is who will pay me more

I agree on the loyalty thing. Take the point that there's not much of it in football but how much of a tool do you have to be to ensure that the club who spent almost a decade nurturing you get practically nothing in return when you leave. As a rovers fan i'd stay at the club all my career no matter how good I was. One level down from that is say Duff who us 3 great years. One down from that is Jones who left at the first opportunity. And the bottom of the pile is Hoilett who won't even ensure we get a good price for him. Either he's a prat or his dad is.

If I was a Manager, I'd be very wary of that bottom of the pile type, they'll be bench warmers with a big paycheck, no commitment at 'lower' levels will be seen at higher ones, especially where you can be carried
