Saturday draws nigh! Looking forward to seeing my heroes tomorrow. I used to work in Staffs and often had to visit Stoke. It's not a lot to write home about, Burslem even less so, but I found the people warm and friendly and passionate about their football. Stoke and Port Vale fans totally loathe each other, as you'd expect.
Port Vale's best known fan is of course local boy made good Robbie Williams...nice to see a celebrity true to his roots. He funds a local charity to help communities in the area so he puts some thing back and all credit to him for that.
PdC isn't going to play Montano...I have to say I'm not sorry about that, no disrespect to the lad but we should be playing our own players rather than loanees in my view. I'd like to see Connell start, with either Kerrouche or Jervis, with Magera on the bench as well.
I'm taking my wife to the game tomorrow. Her record is games attended 2, won 1, lost 1, drawn 0. Does this mean that we're due an away draw? I'd accept that gladly, if we lose I promise I won't take her again.

Don,
In my experience, Wives & football don't mix!
Back in 1970, I took my intended to see us play Sunderland at the CG. She is only 5ft tall & couldn't see anything. Except the fact that their forward knocked the posts over, & the game had to be delayed whilst new ones were brought in over the heads of the supporters.
But we won, & she thought that that was normal for football.
But, after that, we had to visit her relations in SE London. I worked it out to coincide with a game away at Millwall. It rained all day, she got accosted by some drunk who peed on her shoes, & we lost!
But we are still married, God knows how!
Best of luck tomorrow!

I guess you're right about that!
I remember the goalpost incident, I think it might have been Bobby Kerr, the smallest guy on the pitch, who did the damage. I think we won 2-0.
Only went to Millwall once, that was enough! We drew 2-2, a superb solo by Don and then a rarity, a Dave Mackay goal (about the only thing he ever did, what a disaster he was!). I kept my head down and mouth shut and fortunately came out of The Den in one piece.
I'll post a report on tomorrow's game.

Don,
Probably too late now, but best of luck at the game!
It was Bobby Kerr & I think that the game was on MOTD.
I can understand your actions at Millwall, it wasn't the place to wear your club's colours in those days! We went for a beer before that game & we were a bit concerted to see some of the locals whiling away the time by carving their initials on the bar!
The missus hasn't been to a game since!

Great 3 points today, 500+ Swindon is a good turn out what with family firework displays etc.
Looking forward to Dons report. I did listen to the match and it sounded like we played fairly well for most of the 90 minutes with the obvious spells of pressure coming from the home team on occasions.
Nice to see Magera on the score sheet with what sounded like a really good strike. Hopefully now he will go on and score regularly whenever he gets his chances.
Looking forward to Tuesdays JPT game and maybe the attendance will be slightly up because of today's result.
