Very interesting game tomorrow with Pompey v Forest with the main story consisting around that of one man Mr Steve Cotterill.
Pompey fans seemed to get tired of Cotterill towards the end of his reign and suggested he played hoof ball and defensive football, even though he was with them obviously through the bad times, where they were free falling due to finances and he was able to keep them in the league.
Forest fans however could not have asked for a much better start from Cotterill, with our club basically on its knees from lack of confidence in the board and the manager when he took over things looked dire. However with FC in place and SC then joining the club has for once entered a period of calm and sort of stability, where everyone seems to know the situation they are working in. With 3 out of 4 games won (and should still be unbeaten), the Forest players confidence has come back, with all things sounding good from the players out of the Forest camp, that so much so we are starting to find out about the dire managerial skills of Schteve McClaren.
Cotterill's old fashioned principles of organizing the team and telling them what to do seem to have brought the team into one that wants to play football again and the style of play of free flowing attacking football as we saw against boro and Blackpool, can also be adapted to gritty games such as Reading. So much so that the most stark difference since Cotterill arrived is that the defense which was basically destroyed under Schteve has now become solid and tough to beat. All the players look like they are enjoying playing again and a sense of unity has returned to the Forest camp and the city ground, with Cotterill uniting the players under him and is uniting the fans as well with such appeals that were heard under BD that will ultimately gain the support of the fans to support the players with 110%.
So far so good then for Cotterill but this weekend will possibly one of his biggest challenges to date with Pompey his club he was only in charge of a month ago standing in his way. Yes they may be in 20th position but they are solid at home with the majority of points coming from there. Forest also have a hard time against Pompey away with results not going our way for a long time, but with a rejuvenated set of players and confidence starting to flood back to the team, lets hope that we can beat Pompey at their place and propel us up the table once and for all!
Remember only 7 points off the playoffs, so keep the faith
Thought's on Pompey and Cotterill, or for Pompey fans with the return of Cotterill, and what he did with you and what he is doing now at Forest?
Steve Cotterill's Red Army!

"we can move up the table once and for all"
Are we going to live happily every after as well?

Was not commenting on positivity or negativity. Was just unsure of what you meant by "once and for all"? Seemed a strange comment to me? Are you saying if we win at Portsmouth then we gave cracked it? We will be promoted?

Good article Robbie
The thing is I dont think Forest fans will be too bothered about today's result; a win - fantastic, but if we lose - oh well, we know we have turned the corner and are going to make steady progress so a defeat today will be regarded as a blip rather than another step in a downward spiral as would have been the case if SM was still in charge. (Although I hope the players don't share this attitude).
The biggest problem at the moment is the bench. We have a good starting eleven, but imagine how much better it might have been on Tuesday if Anderson, McCleary, Boateng, and Cohen had been on the bench, to say nothing of starting with Miller and Dexter up front.
Todays sixteen will be much the same as Tuesday. Maybe Reid will start, I thought he made a difference in the second half. Maybe have Freeman in the squad too; he needs to start being involved bearing in mind that Cunningham may only be here for another eight weeks.
A low scoring encounter today, I'll settle for a 1-1 with Tuddy scoring again and hopefully no injuries in what could be a physical game against an experienced Pompey

They have scored ten in seven home games, I think Luke Varney is there main threat.
Kieron Freeman on loan to the Stags. I'd have thought he was a bit better than that to be honest.
