Rule Britannia.

Know that bit you sing "Britons never ever ever shall be slaves" well in England, when they sing it, they sing "England never ever ever shall be slaved" .

Scottish little Englanders are the true Quislings.

The olympics are a tarnished entity, it's supposedly for amateurs but it's not, taking part is supposed to be the big thing, yet GB athletes are having their funding removed because it's thought they won't contribute to The Medal Count...And since when was GOLF an olympic sport? What next? Darts? Rounders?

Well if you want to get political about it then fair enough.

I'm just looking at it from a footy point of view.

Any chance for our younger players to be positively influenced by mixing with and/or competing against better players could only improve them.

And goodness knows we need it.

I just don't get how (for example) Wales are claiming that it could spell the end of their own Nationality, etc is pretty silly.

The SFA, WFA, will go on ever anon and some competition once every four years will never threaten that...

It's true, but the difference between Wales and us is, we sometimes come close to qualifying.

It's an under-23 comp. so in principle I have no objection to some of our youngsters getting a game, but with Pierce in charge you just know it will be 8 Englishers and token Jock, token William, token Taffy, and the three of them will be subbed before half time.

Hector.

I wouldn't use what folks sing as grounds for accusing people of being quislings if I were you.

Get my drift?

Your undying love is not reciprocated.

1. The Olympic football team is normally as important up here as the challenge cup (or whatever it's called these days).

2. Scotland are not taking part, so why would we care?

3. "Team GB" is the name they've gone with, which totally excludes people from Northern Ireland who are, as far as the FA are concerned, still eligible to be part of it (even though they don't want to be). Why exclude them from the name of the team if they want them to be part of it?

I may not be Scottish, but I support the Scotland national team because my wife and children are Scottish and I have lived here since I was 17. But I will never support a Great Britain team.
