Now we've reached a well deserved break we can look back on the games we've played up to this point. After our first (and only) European match this season we've dropped to the deep depths of 6th place.
I'm sure, like all of us on here, if someone had offered us 6th place in November last year we would have ripped their arm off! It's quite the transformation over the space of 1 year and full credit to Freedman. Lennie Lawrence said that being a Palace legend the fans would support him but eventually he would have to prove he can manage and he has done that. To consider the most we really complain about is his timing of bringing subs on that's not bad going.
However the next 2 months are going to be what decides our season. We have some tough fixtures but I think we can beat anyone in our league. Yet a lot of teams dip around Christmas and then struggle to recover e.g. Blackpool last season.
Shall we tempt fate and predict what will happen over the next 2 months? Or the rest of the season?
OR after this start where would you be happy/ disappointed to finish?

I've never looked at it that way so '5stars' for comedy value .
Well, who'd have thought we'd be where we are atm..........not too many i'd guess. Obviously i'm pleased, and also the fact the Doog 'seems' to be making changes a tad sooner rather than later suggests he's getting to grips with watching from the sidelines as opposed to the middle of the park.
Some comments from my friends recently have been aimed at our lack of goals lately. This is always a worry (regardless of our good run of clean sheets, well done lads ) because if you don't score it's hard to win games . Hopefully this is just a blip as i believe we have one of the strongest 'front lines' in the League.
Hmmm, the rest of the season. I think we have the 'belief' now to maintain our 'top 10' position. We're going to struggle against some sides away, ie Cardiff/W Ham for example, but we're than a match for most with this squad imo.
Highlights so far..........................Equalising against the Seaweed, scoring another 2 against the Seaweed and ultimately beating the Seaweed...............their first league defeat at the new ground apparently AND HISTORY WILL ALWAYS SHOW IT WAS AGAINST US
I'll settle for mid-table this season but would love to see us in the mix come April. Promotion? Mid-table obscurity? Who knows. But definately NOT relegation candidates this season

Well maybe this break wasn't the best thing. I have heard rumours that BOTH McCarthy and Williams are injured and won't be back before Christmas! This is awful news if it's true.
Now we've got Martin we'll probably play a 4-4-2 or a 4-4-1 and be a bit more attacking. From the sounds of it we were unlucky at Cardiff and a combination of Portsmouth defence and the ref was the reason for our lack of goals.
Now to end on a positive note. My highlight so far was the 2nd goal against Coventry (closely followed by yours TUX). When the 2nd goal went in the whole place went crazy!

Sorry I meant 4-4-1-1
That's why I'm not a manager!
