I'd like to say that I've often through the last couple of years had my doubts about Johnny Howson. I don't think he's good enough, simple as that. I know he can play well, but how often?
A few points I'd like to make:
1. No player should be guaranteed a place in the team week in week out even if he plays badly. What incentive is that for the player to improve?
2. Midfeild is so important that I have noticed so many games where Howson gives away balls, makes bad decisions and wastes opportunities. I know he's not the only one but if he is captain (lol) he needs to set a better example.
3. There are better players than Johnny and ı think he needs to be replaced at least temporarily to make him realise that his performances are not good enough.
4. How long is it since he scored?
5. Where is the fairness Simon? Some players who I could mention have to fight to get in the team but golden boy is always in no matter how poor he plays, that just ain't right for the morale of the team.
Please Simon, drop him to help the team and to help the player.
Now a cautionary comment: now I've finally put into words what I've been thinking for ages, he'll probably get a hat-trick next game and make me regret posting this....

They got slated and rightly so, Johnson is a different kettle of fish.
Our player of the 2nd half of last season and still got hammered.
But i agree some people will not change their mind.
Take clayton, I was his biggest critic, but I hold my hands up and say I got it wrong.

Howson has been better than Clayton this season, in regards to consistency, I know which one I'd rather have as captain

Gregan is the best defender we had outside of the Premier League.
Howson is the most gifted player we've had outside of the Premier League.
I don't think Leeds fans like good players.
At least 'goes missing' seems to have taken over from 'too lightweight' I was getting sick of that.

Clayton has picked up 4 MOM awards this season and Howson has not picked up a single one and not scored for 26 games but I am sure you are right that he has been better than Adam Clayton-

But that was not my point, my point is that clayton is different class to johnson.
Johnson is very limited,Clayton is a complete midfielder
