The problem is Fabianski will almost certainly leave.

I saw a list of players who are out of contract this summer and it included a lot of keepers (PL only). The likes of Sorenson, Jaaskelainen, Cudicini etc.
Let Fabs go in January, keep Almunia as back up, and get a good back up in the summer.

Fabianski is out of contract in the summer I think (along with Mannone and Almunia). I actually think he is a good keeper, and would prefer him to stay as our number two.
BUT...
He wants to represent his country in the Euros, he has no chance if he is number 2 at club level to a fellow Polish keeper. i just cannot see him staying.

We could possibly get someone in in January to replace him, but I think Wenger will see Almunia and Mannone as adequate back up.
