E- petition

Responsible department: Department for Culture, Media and Sport

This petition calls on the Government to prevent any central or local public money being used to support Tottenham Hotspurs' redevelopment of its football ground. Tottenham Hotspurs is a commercial concern which receives many hundreds of £millions each year enabling its owners to purchase players for tens of £millions of pounds and pay them of £millions of pounds. None of this expenditure stays in the community. This is not a company short of money, assets or the ability to raise funds commercially. Normally when a company wishes to develop land it pays the local council to build the necessary infrastructure. Public money should not be used to support this private company nor special terms be offered. There are many better uses for public money that does not include a rarely used stadium and associated infrastructure. Support public spending on health, housing, and education for the community in Tottenham not this needless and blind free gift to a commercial company.

You will not get any reasonable comment out of myhoofers or muffinboy re WHU getting the benefit of taxpayers money.

It is interesting to note however two things in this report, one us that LLDC will benefit from the catering which suggests they & not WHU will have the concessionary rights in that area. Secondly the report suggest the capacity is 55,000 & not 54,000. Will myhoofers be on to them to correct this?

Finally, it is the restructuring of the seating & the roof which is costing the most. Surely these are costs that should be borne by West Ham?

Reasonable debate? Says a man with a lot of integrity on JA606...

1) You blame West Ham being benefited from Tax payers in one hand and in other you say West Ham don't own the stadium...then how West Ham are responsible for wasting tax payers money..

2) In that article it says tax payers would be paying £1mil a year to maintain the stadium while it is unused...So, WEST HAM ARE HELPING THE TAX PAYER. Why don't you get this simple facts, you simpleton..

I'm waiting for the man answers from the man of integrity on 606 or who gives exclusives about OS on here.
