why doesnt fergie occasionally just swap around fabio and rafael at half time when one gets tired, it would avoid injuries and its not like anyone would know....

If one is better attacking and the other better defensively, you could swap them depending on if you have the ball or not. Everytime you gain possession put the more attack minded on, then when you lose possession swap them.
It should be easy enough as they play near the touchline.
