Tom Eaves

Don't know if any of you have seen this yet, but Eaves just posted this on his twitter
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OD9q_5xMP3M&feature=share

is it just me or does he look like he could be a right player for us in the near future, his goal against Utd around 2:35 is exceptional, and with (S)KD looking like this might be his last season as a first team regular shouldn't we be looking at getting Tom some games, as opposed to giving Tuncay the occasional run out, who up to now hasn't really showed us what he can do, and there must be a reason why 3 managers in the EPL haven't given him regular games.

Decent video! But let's be wary of the 'Daniel Braaten effect'. YouTube can make most players look good.

Send him on loan to a Championship club. He's not going to improve much more playing in front of one man and his dog on some training pitch, playing against crocks and kids. If not Championship, let old sunbed at Deepdale look after him til the end of the season.

LPP, part of the reason Ward was allowed to leave was that we were offered £1million for him and he wanted regular first team football which we couldn't guarantee him. Would probably have ended up going out on loan again if he'd have stayed.

That's kind of my point WF. If Ward had been as hot as some of us believed then he would have got his shot with us this season. I know it may simply have been he doesn't fit in with Owen's plans and that a million quid is a nice enough fee for someone that young but let's face it given how much we probably spent n training him and the like we probably didn't make a huge amount on him.

With finishing like that the lad deserves a crack at the top flight with us never mind lower league footy.
Natural finisher, knows where the net is and is not afraid to use his pace to scare players.
This kid is everything Davies used to be quick, strong but looks a better finisher than Davies ever was if we lose this kid then i will personally be gutted and question Coyle's ability to spot talent.

The last goal against Utd was sensational, as good as David Platt's. Looks better than Conner Wickham and that big Italian hosser at Utd; however we won't know if he is the real deal until, like Riley, he gets a run in the first team. As someone said a great pity he got injured against Macclesfield and has got to be a better bet as a sub than Tuncay.

On the subject of talent spotting apparently Phil Jones came to Bolton for a trial when he was 10 and we didn't think he was good enough !!

We can blame that one on Big Sam and his bunch then as 9 years ago would be 2002 back in the Allardyce glory years.

He might not have been very good at 10 years old.

I would love to see him get a run in the cup then onto the bench for the real test. He certainly looks the part and if he doesn't get his chance we will never know.

As a last resort I'm with largehat, send him to Brown at Preston. He would look after him and it could well be beneficial to both clubs.
