Little Pea: I almost quit

Hernandez, the Mexican striker has revealed he was on the verge of quitting football all together.

He's recently signed a five-year contract with United after an impressive first season in the Premier League. In his first season he scored 20 goals in all competitions for United.

He told Inside United:

"It was about three years ago and I had a lot of questions about whether or not this was the path God wanted me to follow.

I wasn't playing much football, I was being kept in the reserves. I was disappointed younger players were coming through and getting ahead of me, and it really got me down, even away from football."

So, god wanted to help the red devils?

His interview just indicates he hasn't got the ability to play in League 1, let alone the PL.

He's certainly overrated to be honest. I've heard/read various opinions of Hernandez. I don't understand why others seem to think that Hernandez is/was the best striker in the Premier League just because he scored 13 goals in the league.

Also, he's scored in both of the FA and Carling Cup, but that's not really an achievement the world recognise. In my opinion his overall footballing ability is just beyond poor. He goes missing in big games like Barcelona and stands on the goal-line waiting for the ball to deflect off him.

I've seen so many users on this forum make deluded comparisons. There was previously a guy who compared him to RvP, I just can't help but laugh at him. Hernandez isn't even on the same level as N'Gog, so what human being would compare him to RvP when he wouldn't make it onto our bench at City.
