I read on Cricinfo that Andy Flower said the ICC should look at ODIs and 20/20 as they may end up taking the space of tests.
South Africa and Australia are only playing a two match test series. Why so short?
I think ODI series should be limited according to the test series so if you only have a two match test series, you can only have a two match ODI series.
We all know cricket is ruled by money, but there is enough to go around without getting too greedy and forcing test matches into the background.
Restrict ODIs?

Exactly,I think most of us on are in agreement.More test matches and less of the other stuff..

I think one of the problems is, and in this it's to each their own of course, but we live in a world where people want things instantly, even in sport, so lots of people don;t have the time to watch a test now days, so ODI's and T20 becomes more popular. test match cricket needs to stop worrying about what other formats of the game are doing or not doing and look after it's own garden. how can test cricket compete when we produce pitches which are designed for a draw, so much so even i could score runs on some of them. Test cricket needs to re invent it's self in a way and look at other ways to produce results. Pitches will stay the same, so they need to look at changing the LBW law back to pre 1950's then we will see results happen more. results are what excites sports fans.

Test cricket doesnt have to re-invent itsself in England.. We get full crowds in this country for alot of test matches...
And most of all its the best format of the game by a country mile..

You're right about England, but the game is played in many other countries and can't survive here alone. I agree it is the best format by a mile, but not if it's only popular in one country.

So Fowler wants outside forces to dictate to Indians and SA etc. what to play/watch. What an idiot.
Googly is right. Test cricket needs to reinvent itself, or learn to live with diminished interest.

flower was worried that some players are avoiding test cricket just to play ODIs and 20/20 for the money.

just because his team sucks in odi's he cant say that ICC should play less ODI's

Nah its because Flower fears for test cricket..Even if England were dominating the 50 over game. Id personally still watch test cricket 10 times more often.. Infact am probably like most fans i cant be bothered to watch alot of one day cricket..

I'll tell ya what, Let India play Odi's till the cows come home.Aslong as England play test cricket, everyone will be happy..

I have said countless times, don't bother with ODIs outside of the world cup and the same goes for t20s.
a 7 game ODI series like the one that takes place after the ashes is meaningless and irrelevant to most fans, i know I never watch it.
