I can understand why City fans get frustrated with the lack of info coming out of the club. I think this is due to the fact that Sven was so easy to extract information from. He was always happy to tell the whole world which players he would be going for and what style he wanted to play.
Whilst this was great for City fans it was surely a very bad move for the club by letting all the opposing teams/Managers know who we were after and how we were to play it etc etc...
I remember Sven being on the phone in and letting Stringer reel off a list of Strikers we were linked with and Sven giving him the thumbs up on which were realistic and which were not.
No wonder Bristol slapped a ridiculous price tag on Nicky Maynard and WBA dived in for Shayne Long. Of course we all know what happened then, Sven had gone so public with it all he made the panic buy of the season in Beckford. A player so unfit for Svens style of play (i.e. no width) it was an absolutely crazy purchase.
The fact that since Sven left the club it has shut up shop on "quotes" and interviews is a good grounding for when Nigel Pearson arrives because as we know he doesn't go public with anything.
We need the owners to stop making silly quotes now too i.e. "We want Premier league next season" is constantly putting us up there to be knocked off our perch. We know what you want Top because the level of investment tells us that.
Southampton are different class and West Ham won't drop many points so lets be realistic and try and get into the Play-offs and take our chance, I have a feeling we will be a hard team to beat once Nigel gets us organised but there will be quiet a few draws coming our way so the Play-offs has to be the realistic target now.

Certainly the club should not reveal its negotiating hand through public pronouncements. But I see no reason why it should not tell its supporters much more than it does at present, maybe on the lines of eg
"LCFC is considering a number of possibilities for the succession to Mr Ericksson, and is looking in particular for someone with a record of proven success in managing in the Championship. It has interviewed Mr Butcher, Mr Baker and Mr Candlestickmaker, and on 30 October asked Grantcaster Rovers for permission to talk to Uncle Tom Cobbley. Permission having been refused, LCFC is currently in discussion with Grancaster about the terms of any possible compensation which might be payable, if Uncle Tom were to join LCFC.
Once the LCFC has completed its interviews and other discussions, and reached the necessary agreements with all affected parties, it will announce the identity of the new manager on its website. It is not at present possible to indicate a precise date for this, but the club intends to move as quickly as possible, consistent with making what it believes to the right appointment."
Is that or something like it really too much to expect...?

How has the club lost any credability over the impending appointment of Nigel Pearson ? That statement is astounding and lacks any knowledge of football dealings..
They have enticed arguably the best manager we have had since Martin O'Neill back to a club that basically packed his bags for him.
Not only that, he will be coming from a major rival for a Championship play-off position and bringing with him one of the best scouts in the country never mind The Championship.
If the club had done a Sven and broadcast to all and sundry who they wanted do you truly beieve Hull wouldn't have hijacked the deal, trust me they would.
They have completed the task of replacing Sven with dignity and calm and now have the right man to take us forward.

Not so much the lack of info i don't think? Like you say, it's good to keep our cards close to our chest.
I think it's the delay in getting Pearson back in that is frustrating because it gives him less preparation time with the new squad, therefore putting more pressure on him to get the first 3 points. The owners MUST take this into consideration.

Quite a lot I could argue with in your second post, Muzz ("arguably the best manager we have had since Martin O'Neill...a major rival for a Championship play-off position...one of the best scouts in the country..." ). But life is too short.
So I will confine myself to to boggling at your suggestion that our owners have pursued the task of replacing Sven "with dignity and calm". On the contrary, it has been embarrassing, and the club's re-appointment of the manager it sacked only two minutes ago is making it look very foolish indeed. We must hope that he proves a blistering success, and then all this will be forgotten.
