Credit where it's due

I watched the England game last night and without going OTT (I will leave that to the press and London based fans) I thought we did much, much better than I ever thought we could, however for me there were one or two stand out players.

Parker did well, as did Jones, Welbeck, Cole and Lampard, however, I thought Lescott did and excellent job. Maybe it's because he linked up with his old side kick Jagielka but whatever he looked tip top. I have to hold my hands up and admit I have slated him since the day you signed him but last night I thought he was well worth his place and we should now consign JT and perhaps Rio to History.

There is a new bunch of younger players who will eventually come through to give us a top notch back four Richards, Smalling, Jones (insert a decent LB) but just now and for next summer I'd give these boys a shot. JT has less mobility than a super tanker and his constant off pitch cockups must now see him booted.

My only negative was Milner, I thought last night that he looked like a throw back in time to an era of big robust players. When Young is fit I don't see him getting anywhere near the starting 11 I'd rather see Young, Parker, Wilshire and AJ with Lampard, Barry, Walcott & Rodwell as back up, but hey we won and Lescott was IMO the best and most improved player on the pitch.

Not sure Adam Johnson can command a starting place without being some sort of a regular at Man City (or elsewhere), but would have him over Stewart Downing in the pecking order.

Gibbs will be a very good left-back if he can play 3 games in a row without getting injured.

Well I left the LH slot empty because Bains isn't the answer and I thought GIbbs was but the lad appears to sufffer from "Darren Anderton Syndrome", in short he's made of glass

Can't believe Richards doesnt get picked he's the form right back in the prem at the moment.

Lescott has improved immeasurably under Mancinini, he was never worth the money we payed but England players are vastly overpriced "Andy Carrol" being the worst bit of buisness in recent memory.

Lescott was no surprise for me. Since he's been getting regular games for City he's come on immensley.
