Friendly match with England?

According to yesterdays papers its starting to look like Ireland could be playing England in a pre Euro 2012 friendly at the Aviva in May next year.

I would imagine this friendly will or won't go ahead depending on the draw for the Euro Finals. If we end up in the same group as England (that is assuming Estonia don't beat us 5-0 tomorrow!!!!) then i can't see this friendly going ahead

Either way its looking like our long awaited match with England will be happening next year.

Personally i would prefer to draw them at the Euro Finals themselves.

Trapatoni, or however you spell it, said it would not happen if in the same group as England

Sky of course are only concentrating on the English hooligans who got the match abondoned back in 1995!!

Why am i surprised. Look relations between both countries have improved a hell of a lot since then and theres no way we will have a repeat of that violence.

For the record Ireland were well on top and leading 1-0 before the match had to be called off

To be honest, I don't want this game to happen. Purely from a financial viewpoint. Tickets for me, the old man and my missus will cost best part of €150. Plus beer money you're looking at €200.

I need to be saving those €€€ for Poland/Ukraine.

For God's sake don't allow that crowd into Dublin's racists , doing it with team mates bird, wife cheating all forms of debauchery and that is only the captain and the team. Add their drunken rioting fans and a good city like Dublin and a Family stadium like Landsdowne Road should not be subjected to their low life on or off the field.

In fairness dude, I think the trouble with England fans ended a long time ago.

Agree with Frankos. The English fans have come on big time. Of course you will get a few idiots who want to cause trouble but the days of mass hooliganism and organised riots we saw in Dublin 16 years ago are gone now.
