Spare a min. please.

Hello City& Liverpool fans please spare a min and fill this e-petition.

Responsible department: Department for Culture, Media and Sport

This petition calls on the Government to prevent any central or local public money being used to support Tottenham Hotspurs' redevelopment of its football ground. Tottenham Hotspurs is a commercial concern which receives many hundreds of £millions each year enabling its owners to purchase players for tens of £millions of pounds and pay them of £millions of pounds. None of this expenditure stays in the community. This is not a company short of money, assets or the ability to raise funds commercially. Normally when a company wishes to develop land it pays the local council to build the necessary infrastructure. Public money should not be used to support this private company nor special terms be offered. There are many better uses for public money that does not include a rarely used stadium and associated infrastructure. Support public spending on health, housing, and education for the community in Tottenham not this needless and blind free gift to a commercial company.

Apologies for invading your forum everyone... I'm a trainee journo based in London looking for the Doug Brown that started the e petition against public money going towards a redeveloped Spurs stadium? My googling has lead me here! We were looking to interview him on camera for a short TV package on the statement released today. We'd only need him for 10mins or so tomorrow, or even this afternoon? If he does use this blog, as I believe, tell him to please email Louisa.Wells.1@city.ac.uk for details if he's willing!

how much will you pay me?

Note 'trainee'. It's not for external broadcast and I'm living on a loan. I'd also need to verify people were who they said they were before agreeing to talking to anyone.

In a word, nothing.

Sorry was just joking, I don't think Doug Brown uses the site, someone just posted his petition on here.

I believe the person you are looking for is possibly MafiaBoy, the creator of this thread.

Thanks very much, can I direct message MafiaBoy on this?

Don't worry 8bit, I get asked that question everyday, I just get crabby about it!

You can't direct message, he'll probably read this later. But I don't think he's really Doug Brown.

I think Mafia is avoiding this article out of embarrassment. I'd imagine Dougie Brown will also be too embarrassed to make himself public to such a ridiculous petition as well. And i cant blame them.

6,500 signatures is laugable.
