I would like to ask, does anyone know if we are actually interviewing prospective managers or are the board just throwing top names around.
We are 'linked' to several names, mostly good managers like Hughton, Curbishley, Zola, Di Matteo and one or two more.
I honestly think we should be moving things on a little quicker before the cream of the crop are snapped up.
The same goes for the new managers targets, he needs to be here asap to get his own players in and settled before they are also unavailable.
We need stability right now, or whoever comes in will barely have a squad left to choose from as the 'cherry pickers' will be circling soon.
Are we interviewing?

Correct me if I am wrong but I am not aware Blues have sold any of their players yet. There has been a lot of media rumour stirring up the dust keeping the rivalry between fans at an optimum and of course selling plenty of papers. The only players we need to consider selling are those with 12 months left on their contract i.e. Johnson. I would hate to lose him on a Bosnan next year. The remaining players need reminding, as much as they respect Eck it is BCFC that pay their wages and they are contracted to the club not the manager. Regardless of whether they want to play premier league football, they already have, but they blew it. Nows the time for them to repay the trust that the club put in them and support us in our hour of need.

Correct Skippy,
We have not sold any players yet.
As for repaying the trust shown them by BCFC and the fans, they hardly have a role model in McLeish.

I think Chris Hughton is being interviewed next week. He is one guy I would like to see at the club.

I really hope we get Chris Hughton or Di Matteo.....I think Curbishley is one of those manager who needs a long time to establish and no board nowadays gives that time........long gone are the days of Trevor Francis and Barry Fry.......

Agree U7784 Chris or Di for me... Chris being my first choice. Lets hope the board sort it out!

I hope it's Chris Hughton. It was rumoured that we were looking to sign Leon Best from Newcastle, one of Hughtons first signings, when he was their manager.......

To be honest i think we may be shocked and dispointed at who we apoint and we may end up with a Dave Jones or Cotterill.
Simple fact would be because we would have to make cuts, now McLeish has gone most of the players loyalties are with McLeish not the club.
So i dont think many would want to stay, add to that we need to make cuts means i can see more going now than would have done if McLeish stayed.
This is the only bad thing about McLeish going.
So if say we sold Johnson, Dann, Foster, Gardner and Jerome for about £40M saving about £5-6M off the wage bill.
Do you think the new Manager would get back a penny more than £20M and £2-3M on wages.
I would not be suprised that we may also have to sell Zigic and Michel for about £6M and free up another £3.5-4M wages.
So we could see us make in £45M on players (some would have sell on fees). and free up about £10M wages.
With 7 players gone i cant see new Manager getting more than £15M and £5M wages to replace them, and then we also have lost McFadden, Larsson, Parnaby, Taylor and Bowyer and we would have to replace them on peanuts.
Would a Manager who could have a bright carreer come here and try to take us up on such cuts, chances are if they fail it could hurt there CV
And thats why i recon McLeish also walked.

Reckon that, even if we get rid of all the players you mention, with a couple of additions we could still put out a decent team, although we may be a little short on back up
GK: Doyle/Butland
RB: Carr
CD: Ridgewell
CD: Davies
LB: Murphy
RM: Burke/Redmond
CM: Mutch
CM: Fahey
LM: Beausejour
CF: King
CF: Assante
As I say, a few back up players would be needed, but surely £15 mill + freebies would see us have a decent (if small) squad?

You know though the problem is potentially players like Ridgewell could be effected by the departure of McLeish.
Should a promoted side come on for him or another bottom 10 Prem Club would he be happy to stay here.
The biggest pro is Ridgewells family are settled here he has spent years in Birmingham, so for him maybe moves to WBA or Stoke could be up his street if any of those clubs offered him a chance to play in the Prem we cant begrudge him Ridegwell as been a good servent to our club.
Other than that would Murphy want to contine his not so good career at Blues? Only if new Manager would give him chances.
Redmond and Mutch could be unsettled by McLeish going i do think they could be happy to stay if we get the right Manager and they get games.
There are cheap options we could go and get, we could offer Giles Barnes a pay as you play deal. Its a shame about his injuries as he is a decent player especailly at this level.
While in the Prem i thought we should take a gamble on Jonathan de Guzman a good player who like Barnes had his career ruined by injuries he was targets by Chelsea and Arsenal and even Real Madrid but none took a risk on him, he had 2 Prem clubs look at him last season but no one would take a risk as he hardly kicked a ball for 3 seasons.
Went to Majorca on a free and had a decent season.
Anyway he is out our reach so no point, i was just on about he could had been worth a punt last season.
This season i feel Giles Barnes on a low wage with apearence bonus could be worth a go.
I would also go for either Bothroyd or DJ Campbell but both would want a Prem Club.
So i would go for Wolves SEB Thats right and before fans moan his a Wolves reject, like how they moan about King for being a crook.
Those 2 players will in the Championship on average return about 20 goals each
