"European anti-racism organisation FARE has backed UEFA's decision to punish Celtic and insists the matter should have been dealt by Scotland's football authorities earlier."
They back UEFAs decision...therefore they must have known about the problem and choose to ignore it, surprising that, I wonder why.
HOW CAN THEY COME OUT WITH THIS............

So the complaint to UEFA is what exactly, if not a "cross member" union.? Where were (not) fare at that game.
---------
The comment is that FARE expected the SPL / SFA to act sooner on this issue.
Thats the point of the question above. All of the time since the inception of the SPL Rangers (and Celtic) have been allowed by the SFA/SPL to continue with the chants when Uefa have at least defined the law on acceptable or not.
Its a mockery that the our governing bodies had to wait on their involvement to act.
FFS it took UEFA to highlight that the Billy Boys was unacceptable...thats how much of a joke it is.
You are insinuating that FARE just turned a blind eye but the truth is that the SFA/SPL have done it for years...

We are not talking about the frailties, (real or imagined) of the spl/sfa...I was commenting on the inabilities of... FARE!!!...to bring the vile chanting of certain celtic elements to the attention of UEFA, or are you suggesting this was the first incident.

Christ guys your not exactly grasping this are you....
The Scottish bodies have done nothing about this for years yet you focus on FARE. FARE can not input into individual member countries so if Celtic and Rangers played in the Europa and Celtic evidence existed that Diouf was abused then they could act. In an SPL game if that same evidence existed its upto the police and controlling party to act.
Am i suggesting this is the first time? of course not. I'm not that daft.
Are you suggesting that the only time rangers sang their wonderful songbook was away from SPL games?
My point is simple. I am glad that Celtic are being encouraged by whatever means to ditch the add on nonsense. It should have been forced to happen long ago...the same as it should have been for Rangers.

"Christ guys your not exactly grasping this are you"
One of us finds it difficult to grasp, of that there is no question.
The original point was FARE choose to turn a blind eye to celtics chanting for years in EUROPE, when someone else brings it to EUFAs attention, all of a sudden they get FARES "full backing". As you admit, it has been going on for years, so why did Fare single out Rangers. This post has nothing to do with domestic goings on OK.

Blue - i even admitted that Celtic should have been pulled up ages ago but your just wanting to blame FARE when its clear that the issue lies at home.
You keep fighting the fight.....

I did not raise the point to highlight "the issues at home" everyone is well aware of them. The point was raised to highlight the apparent absence of FARE during celtics euro matches while the offensive chanting is taking place.
