The Carling Cup draw has been made this morning and we play Torquay at home. About two seasons ago, we played them at home and ended in a 2-2 draw after nearly knocked out but we ended the match victorious after a penalty shoot outs. It lead us to JPT final against Carlisle which we won our first trophy since 1976.
With Adkins instead of Pardew and that we have better team than two seasons ago, I think we should be fine beating the Gulls, no problem unless Saints lose some key players in transfer window which hopefully did not have to happen.
Do you reckon Saints can go through on week commencing August 8th?

Oh Yes - Eminently winnable game, and as you say, a chance to blood a few youngsters.
Trusting NA to rein in any daft suggestions about jumping off bridges in the pre-season tour, so this match will be a chance to see if everyone's fit enough after playing Saturday. Just want an away game to kick off the Championship as I'm on hol the first weekend and already missing a lot of interesting friendlies (if you include the Memorial Cup) - the early start to the season caught us by surprise!
