Aviva packed to the rafters!!

Good to see Landsdowne Rd (or the Avia whichever you prefer) sold out last night with a capacity crowd of 51,500.

And with Ireland sure to get a few high profile friendlies in the run up to the Euro 2012 Finals we are gauranteed to see a few more 50,000 crowds at the stadium.

Have to laugh now when i look back on some of the comments that were posted on here over the past year claiming that the new Aviva Stadium would be a "white elephant"!!!! These comments of course were based on envy and begrudgery.

Funny thing is our average attendances at home for the Euro Qualifiers was well above 40,000 - easily one of the best home averages of all the Countries who took part in the Qualifiers.

This play off victory has really been the much needed shot in the arm that Football in this country needed. Long may it continue.
