Firstly some RDBD blah-blah :
Attendance was 1000 odd. Only 10 grand in gate money but puts it into perspective with the 10Ks per week players want.
The stadium and pitch was really good.
Even allowing for selfish RDBD locality, if the NextGen games cannot be played at the Os, I'd suggest the Enfield stadium as a far better deal than the Lodge.
The match :
Or 3-0 as it could have been.
Spurs played well to HT, and were threatening throughout. There was the odd warning from Enfield on the attack, but nothing more. The 2nd half changed all that.
Falque scored on 48 mins, but an Enfield player was injured and Spurs played to the whistle (I thought play had stopped) . That woke Enfield up and thus ensued a performance from mins 45-70 that I thought was a homage to the PL team.
They put themselves about in the box, the defence started to panic under the higher ball, and got two deserved goals. They may have had a third (the ball may have crossed the line) , but twas not given (perhaps some video clips from a better angle will appear on t'Internet) .
The Enfield GK was MOM, especially for the solid performance in the first half.
Enfield played some nice tidy football (not hoofball) , and the fans said twas their normal play and not because of Spurs +/ the way we played.
Players :
- Fredericks
A solid performance building on his game at Rubin.
In the first half, he was a real threat down the right on the attack.
- Dean Parrett
So much like Gazza in his physique and pace.
But not the skill, and too much Gazza-esque tackling IMHO.
- Cabello
Tidy football but concerns about his strength with the hustle and bustle of the MF. The Enfield LB had the better of him a fair bit.
- Obika
Frustrating. He had several chances, but too often the percentage option was not taken.
- Pritchard
Or (RR)Pritchard from now on.
If you thought Tom Carroll was fragile, this boy looked like he had evaded the truant officers. Played the 2nd half, and was anonymous until about the 70th.
And then we saw what Spurcat had suggested. His play, and positioning.
And a lovely 3-4 passing interchange around/in the box let down by his final shot on goal.
- Townsend
As the player with the most claim to be in the Spurs big boys, he was poor.
Especially in the first half with far too much show-boating touches for my liking.
- Others (Luongo, Bostock etc)
Nothing of note IMHO.

RRP :
I read the "Spurs odyssey" website.
He proved he was there by commenting on the "Norman Collier" MIC PA that prevented the team list being heard (I got to see a list from a guy who had a laptop there and was obviously writing a match report for someone) .
The announcer said the Spurs scorer was Falque !!!
Twas distracting as the Enfield player was injured.
He + team mates were in my line of sight for the goal, and that + the whistle being blown I thought the goal was ruled out anyway.
He also commented about the Spurs play being too "cute" , the number of subs Enfield made +/- no shirt numbers (I think the ref stopped the game at one point to do a body count as the subbing was getting confusing) .
And yes, two Spurs shots off the bar.
With the Parrett one being most dangerous as the ball came back into play.
Townsend + 1st team bench + last night =

RDBD - Oh yeah i read the Spurs odyssey website from time to time as i get the link from Newsnow.com
I didnt have the heart to correct you but i read Obika scored the goal
Sounds like it was a pretty good game, Falque seems to be making a name for himself, looks quite handy in the Europa League games i have seen as well
Townsend ...i quite like him!
Glad you enjoyed yourself
