Been off-line for 12 months, due to health problems, so it was great to find this Beeb alternative site on Wednesday when I was desperately trying to get some local news of our managerial appointment and press conference. Thanks again to those who posted the links, enjoyed listening and watching them.
In my opinion, I do believe Nigel Pearson will be a great re-appointment We needed someone to come in and get some discipline back into the squad and a management team who might spend the owner's cash more wisely.
Before the first match of his new tenure, what do you thing our realistic aims should be for the rest of the season, is going up this season a definite maybe, wishful thinking or maybe promotion next season is more likely ?
Whatever, I hope Nigel will still be manager at the end of his current contract and wish him and all the LCFC staff and players all the success in the world.
Realistic Aims

I think we have all learned that promotion cannot be expected - Sure it can be an aim, as it should be for every team in this league.
Play-off's are a realistic goal this season but its anyone's guess who will win them

There is no reason why we shouldn't get into the play-offs, finishing 5th or 6th is quite realistic. What happens after that, of course, is a lottery!

Thank you Filbert and Danger for responding, likewise see the Play-Off's as possible this season, but to be honest want to WIN this league title, so that would be next season for me. I predict we might finish 7th this season and do agree those play-off's are a lottery. Whatever, up the Foxes forever and good to see a 3-0 win and NO bookings on Sunday. Cheers

Just using this thread now as my indicators for the season. Now played 22 games with 30 points, when Nigel took over it was played 16 games with 22 points. Goal difference improved by +3. Slightly disappointed so far with the results but apart from Matt Mills the discipline appears better and my faith in NP is still strong. Still can achieve the play-offs but am sticking to my prediction we will just fall short this campaign. Hoping for a good cup run to compensate for the lack of league success this term.

The people who are calling for NP to be sacked after the Barnsley home defeat are just plain morons. The names Steve Bruce and Neil Warnock have been mentioned, neither holds a candle to our present boss. Please give the bloke a chance to clear the dross and build his own team of footballers who are more interested in playing for the shirt, pleasing our fans and not their bank managers.

Right, time for an update. 45 points now from 32 games. Only 12th in the league, but with a cup run of 3 wins and a draw as well, NP's record is already better than Sven's. I fear my prediction of 7th could be too optimistic, but never say never. Reckon we would need 30 points from the last 14 games to make the play-off's and my prediction is just 21 points and 66 points total, finishing 10th.

Leicester Pl 46 Home 11 6 6 36 22
Away 7 6 10 30 33
Total 18 12 16 66 55 +11
Foxes finished with the predicted 66pts and 66 goals I quoted in February but even my optimism was too high as they only finished 9th in what really was a disappointing season. Reading won the league with Southampton runners up. West Ham, Birmingham, Blackpool and Cardiff made the play-offs with 75 points needed, x factor.
