Sin-bins for a yellow card

Recently, there appears to be a suggestion that a yellow card will result in 10 minutes in the " Sin bin". I'm sure most if not all of you know what the "Sin bin"is, so I wont bother explaining it here. My question is , what are your thoughts on this ?. Will there be there be a degree of punishment? For instance, will goalie normally booked for time wasting,go into the "bin".Or a player booked for the same offence at a throw-in.

And what about the removal of the shirt in celebration or over exuberance when scoring. There are other reasons for dishing out the yellow-card will all of them result in a stay in the bin. The most obvious ones, over zealous/dangerous tackles warranting it.

I suppose, if it comes to pass, it will eventual lead to the stopping of those minor infringements.

Well, over to you fellow football supporters. Wadda yer fink. I'm a Gooner but I know you'll all have an opinion on this; so no wumming if you please

Thanks for reading this article, sorry if it was a bit long

I like your comment Psycho, about the player resting but I dont think his team mates will be too happy if it's done with ten minutes to go and they are defending a 1 goal lead

If it's not broken, then don't fix it

One could argue it is broken, with the same punishment for something minor like celebrating with your own fans and for bad tackles.

And every other sport comparable to football has a sin-bin method of punishment. So why not apply the same logic to sin bins as technology?

Doesn't change the opinion that the two crimes don't deserve the same punishment.

Said it before......Football could learn a lot from Rugby, the yellow card ten minute sin bin would soon see a result

Having the ref mik'ed up as well - strangely they get no lip from players when making a decision

Video replays of potential tries - there's another.....

see you've got me started now....

So then it equates to a sending off, which then defeats the purpose of a sin-bin. Shocking idea if you ask me.

Yes Sir Denis, a Gooner for over 60 years that's me. Even before the days of Jack Kelsey et al. How about George Swindin (as a Goalie), Pete Goring, Doug Lishman, Alex Forbes, Reg Lewis not forgetting Joe Mercer our capitano ,who's career was finished with a broken leg

And my favourite Gunner of them all---- Why your namesake of course, the magical, marvellous Denis Berghamp

By the way, what is OP. I've seen it many times but never managed to work it out. It's an age thing I guess

OP is Original Post or Original Poster I believe.

But could be wrong. It seems to fit when they say it.
