Oh lord, how embarrassing. Not enough that everyone in the media refers to him as Sir Alex, the forelock tugging manager of Man U now wants to be elevated to Lord Ferguson. It's a disgrace that this man who has risen to the top of the people's game would betray his sport and his own working class roots in such a craven fashion.
I don't have any strong feelings about peerage or monarchy in Britain, has nowt to do with me personally being from another country. However I still think that Ferguson a man I'd admire for his footballing success is belittling himself and the game by bowing down to elements of British society that contradict the hard work ethic that has made it possible for a working class man like himself to be successful.
Ferguson is embarrassing himself and letting down the game.
So it'll be Lord Ferguson now will it?

I can't belive this argument went on for so long over something so trivial. But it was fun to read.
I say argument, but really McIlvick claimed Fergie 'wanted' to become a Lord but could not provide any evidence to back this up. yet, despite this lack of evidence managed to turn this into a 2 page thread where he still thinks he's right and everyone else is wrong. And United fans are the deluded ones!!!!
Ok, how about this...Kenny Dalglish and Roman Abrahmovich are bum bashing lovers who enjoy playing the poink whistel. I can't provide any evidence of this of course, but anyone who disagrees with me is either a Liverpool or Chelsea who just doesn't want to hear the truth about high profile characters from their club. Any attempt at a reasoned argument to the contrary proves you are deluded.
